Umarex Gauntlet Memo

To shed some clarity on the performance findings of the Umarex Gauntlet, please take these facts into consideration:
The Gauntlet was developed to perform optimally at a regulated output pressure of 1,100 PSI. This specification provides the marketed number of shots per fill while meeting the advertised velocity. The tank and regulator shipped with the Gauntlet is manufactured to a specification set by Umarex USA. The manufacturer of the tank and regulator maintains that specification within a set tolerance. The 1,250 PSI that is stamped on the regulator is the maximum operating pressure specified for the Gauntlet. If someone were to change the output pressure to achieve their personally desired results or expectations, they may no longer achieve the marketed performance aspects.
Umarex USA uses the RWS Hobby pellet as a testing benchmark and has set tolerances for velocity and accuracy expectations enforced by rigid quality control at various stages of manufacturing. In .177 caliber the Hobby pellet is 7 grains. In .22 caliber, the Hobby weighs 11.9 grains. These are neither lightweight nor hard to find pellets. As in all testing criteria, a set plus- or minus-tolerance is also applied to accuracy and velocity product requirements.
There have been some published reports of shooters not achieving the originally marketed velocity and consequential energy output. This information combined with the maximum output pressure specified for the Gauntlet being stamped on the regulator has created some confusion. To be clear, the Umarex Gauntlet was designed to meet its advertised performance qualities with a regulated output pressure of 1,100 PSI using a specified pellet.
Please be aware that if you choose to modify any aspect of the Umarex Gauntlet to meet your desired results or expectations you may no longer achieve the marketed performance and will void the three-year warranty offered by Umarex USA.
