Umarex Air Saber

ALL arrow guns are loud since they cannot use a moderator. The shroud on the Air Saber does absolutely nothing as far as sound suppression is concerned. It is simply an open tube to protect the arrow during hunting.

Good, accurate info. Thank you.
We are trying different things to help with sound, but those who are mechanically inclined can probably see the challenges.
All the best to you all. ~JB

Not a lot of difference, really. I have an AF Condor built to shoot arrows at around 450fps and modified a Chinese M10 to shoot arrows. I turned down the M10 for more shots and it's doing around 240-250fps with them and it's still loud.

Same thing as with an AF talon SS. It's shrouded. Remove the endcap and it's loud, even with the shroud. No real way to put an effective endcap on an arrow gun shooting fletched arrows.

Edit... Perhaps someone could devise an endcap with a sort of 'whisker biscuit' type end on it. That may provide a little suppression... but I've not tried it nor know of anyone who has.

Things I liked: Very powerful. The accuracy is fantastic. The ability to use my Benjamin hand pump to fill the gun. It's a little hard but not so hard it can't be filled. Price is just right.

Things I would have changed: The gun needs a dust cover for the fill hole. I made mine out of a straw. Works great.

What others should know: Be ready for a very powerful arrow gun. It has a pretty good report. Not to loud but it will surprise you the first time the gun is shot. All the videos on YouTube are very accurate presentations on the guns capabilities.

I finally got out to the range with it today. Went through the sight in instructions they included. Sighted it in at 20 yards, then went to shoot at 30 yards and it shot 6 “ high. So from there I adjusted the speed ring to get the highest setting which is supposed to lower the point of impact. It only lowered it about 2 inches. The highest setting is for 475 FPS. I didn’t take my chrono so I don’t know how fast it’s shooting.
So what I ended up doing was sighting it in at 30, then it shot 1” high at 20 and spot on at 30 and 40, about 3” low at 60 and 4” low at 80.
They quality of the scope is great and it has a lifetime warranty.
