Ultra Heavy .25 Slugs

Has anyone tried the 38.5, 43.x and 55.x gn NSA slugs in their Impacts? I just upgraded to the Huma Dual TP, FX pin probe slug kit and Superior Heavy Liner.
NSA offers 35 ct. sample packs so picked these three up.
Will be trying them in my Condor as well if they flop w the Impact.
was just curious as where to start velocity wise.
Getting good results with 33.5 gn now.

NSA 43.5 at about 900 FPS. .25 Impact with PP and 700mm slug A liner. Pin probe, Ernest TP, and light valve spring. No rubber ball. No Hammer weight or hammer spring spacers. Reg at 130.
PS., contrary to one of the posts above, the NSA 43.5 will fit the FX magazine. It’s very close, no more than a millimeter clearance, but they fit. See photo below.

I shoot 60 grains with a modified talon p with 18" barrel and custom valve with huge air output. 47 grain are almost too light and shoot close to 1000 FPS even with low spring preload. Heaviest casting mold I could find for a suitably shaped slug.

I am using a LW .25 barrel with choke so I don't really bother with the slugs that have broad, flat flanks or whatever it's called. I wish there were more varieties of heavy .25 slugs, especially drive band-based designs. Not like the NSA shape where whole side of bullet has to drag against barrel, those especially when heavier/longer lose noticeable energy going through the choke in my barrel and come out at low fpe for their size. Accuracy seems ok though.

I attached two pictures of the slugs I cast. I keep posting these in various threads here and there, my apologies for those of you have to keep looking at these pictures, but right now it's all I've got to offer.

That looks like fun... that photo causes a gut-level urge to reach into my screen and pull a trigger. :)

It would be nice to see more options with drive-band based slugs. I believe these may be more generally useful in choked barrels if contact surface area is kept small.

Lots of folks cutting off chokes, but why not design slugs that work with them too? I wonder what's involved in a custom mold and how much it would cost to get built (Not that I would know how to design a slug so it seems risky). it might be nice to have some heavier 65-75 grain .25 slugs with drive bands and reduced barrel contact like that NOE 60... but maybe with less heavy drive bands, like those 47 grain slugs. Those 47 grain slugs seat perfectly and are very very accurate

I totally agree.
