UK package in today! Attn Bully owners!

My package came in today from SMW Engineering. Man oh man Stuart sure outdid himself this time. Two impact clamps and one for the Hatsan Hercules Bully-

I already knew there would be no fit up problems on the Impact as I already have one on my own Impact, actually the first one ever produced. I ordered two more for other Impact builds. It was the one for the Bully I was a bit worried about, just like I was for the one on my impact, as I provided Stuart all the drawings and dimensions.

As it turned out, the fit up was 10 levels above level 1 perfect-

The gap between the bottle and barrel shroud was spot on. No raising or pulling down on the barrel to get it to slip over the bottle. I pretty much just dropped the clamp on.

A bit of history of why this is a must have: the factory design of the 21” long scope rail tied into the bottle cover that had barrel shroud supportive clamps was a poor design. The bottle cover was a lone piece, not attached directly to the stock, so it allowed movement.

Under the bottle cover was a pic rail for bipod mounting. Any flex that happened there would then transfer upward onto the scope rail that would cause the scope to move. Looking closely at the scoperail, it was a hollowed channel underneath and not made of aluminum, like most scope rails are made of. After hearing it from other Bully owners, I had to try it myself, but if you grab the gun by the scope you will see the scope rail flex. This made sighting in and target shooting both depressing moments. I always felt like all I was doing was wasting ammo and air.

i researched for a better solution, and with the help of Hajimoto to pull dimensions off of his bullmaster that he was doing a review on, I found out the bullmaster rail is a direct bolt on to the Bully, and was all made of solid aluminum. I ordered up that bull master rail from Hatsan($30) and the accuracy improved immediately and immensely, but I knew it could get better and a part of that was just this barrel shroud hanging out there with a Shogun on the end of it.

So with the success I’ve personally experienced from using SMW’s wildcat clamps I decided first to do it to the impact (which it helped for sure) and now with this Bully. No more flex, barrel droop, or concerns of leaning the barrel on a corner wall. This gun’s barrel shroud now has two points of support.

Thanks, SMW Engineering!

Great, You know I need one of those for my Bully. I have contacted them.

Youre going to truly like that addition. Just you wait and see how it just reinforces that barrel shroud.

I wish I had access to a lot of guns, as just looking at certain ones I can tell they’d benefit from a clamp such as this. I’d measure each one and have them made so all can benefit with a sturdier barrel support. One for sure that needs it is that FX Boss and the Crown. Really long barrels just dangling out there. With a moderator on it the gap between the bottle and barrel from the rear to the front just tapers, due to droop.
