Tutorial: ATI Liberty, Freedom - Strip, Stack Pak! (Video)

So you own a sweet ATI Liberty, Freedom or Seneca Aspen but don't have air and sound conditioning devices???? Well, worry no more! In this video I will teach you how to outfit your awesome side cocking powerhouse PCP with a legitimate air stripper, 6 section baffle stack, ventilate barrel shroud with lead and sound traps in just minutes!

In this video I'll take you step by step on how it's done and what you need to make it happen. So sit back with your favorite beverage and watch the show!!!

Haj,

Very nicely done brutha!
I really like your internal baffle setup, clean and effective!

BTW, I must have lucked out.. On my early production/version Freedom,
I've had the shroud off a few times w/o having to remove either of the top set-screws..
I only have to remove the lower/side set-screw. It's a tight fit w/ the stock right there,
but so far so good and no issues.

Keep up the great work man, and thanks for sharing!

Thank you Sam, for the kind words I really do appreciate it.
I know what you mean about the set screw on the side and it is accessible but I was afraid that the average user would mar the stock, especially if it were a wood stock owner. I figured "better safe than sorry", but off camera, I use my extended length driver and zip that sucker right out 😊

The airguns tone is completely different with a functioning ventilated shroud which is defusing from a functional conical air stripper. The ID of the ATI shroud is HUGE and does an amazing job attenuating sound due to the large amount of surface area and volume. The only gripe I have with the airgun is the pressure vessel is similar to the sound of the Benjamin Marauder and would really benefit from a depinger device.... 🤔 Hmmmmmm <gears are a spinning>

Haj,

You're welcome, and very much deserved!

Ah, right on man.. Good deal, and yes I totally agree.. "Better safe than sorry"!

Thanks for elaborating on the whole concept! Some people might think that the internals [baffles] don't matter much,
but, there's most definitely a real science to it all, and it's really cool to see that you understand that, and use specific designs!

Ha! Yes! I totally hear you about the audible level of the 'ping'..
When I used the Ronin and the Emperor V3 on my Freedom, the slight ping is pretty much all that I could hear..
To me, it was a bit comical - Just how quiet we can get these things.. But imagine softening the sound of the ping..
That's be awesome! I currently don't have the time or means to do a teardown and/or fabricate anything, so...
I'm going to leave that one up to You - should you choose to accept the challenge. hahaha

What a very well produced and easy to follow video.

Thank you, from a new subscriber, Hajimoto

We are new to airguns; and have some questions.

All pertain to the ATI Nova Freedom that is on its way to us

Of course no mods will take place until we get to know the gun well

  • Can the mods be independent of one another so that the baffles could be installed without the shroud mod? (or reverse, shroud mod without baffles)

SHROUD MOD

  • at 6:12 in the video the barrel block is removed: & not reinstalled again. Correct?
  • Does the Air Stripper replace the screw in shroud cap?

BAFFLE INSTALL

  • I don't see the Air Stripper.
  • Is it used?

BUYING PARTS

  • I found your e-Bay listings but nothing was there for the Freedom.
  • What's the best way to order baffles & other parts from you?

Thanks again

Ed

Haj > You must have the Air Stripper installed to use the baffle stack but you do not need to install the baffles to use the air stripper but to be honest, why would you not install the whole kit?

SHROUD MOD

  • at 6:12 in the video the barrel block is removed: & not reinstalled again. Correct?
    Haj> Correct
  • Does the Air Stripper replace the screw in shroud cap?
Haj> The Air Stripper is installed on the end of the barrel. The Gun does not ship with a Air Stripper at all. No the end cap for the shroud is still used.

BAFFLE INSTALL

  • I don't see the Air Stripper.
Haj> The Air Stripper is on the barrel. Youa re seeing the Shroud. Essentially think of the barrel as being slid inside ather pipe, that second pipe is the barrel shroud.
  • Is it used?
    Haj> Yes it is

BUYING PARTS

  • I found your e-Bay listings but nothing was there for the Freedom.
Haj> not offering my Strip Stack Pak's On Ebay only on my Website.
  • What's the best way to order baffles & other parts from you?

I will add my comments to your original post. Each of my comments will Start with Haj>

Thank you, Hajimoto

You have the patience of a saint: and have cleared up my misinterpretation/misunderstanding of the barrel & shroud.mods

So now I understand that there are 2 separate mods for 2 different parts of the rifle

1. Baffles in the barrel; terminated by the air stripper

2. Vent holes in the shroud

The questions now become

- Can mod #1 (Baffles & air stripper in the barrel) be done without doing Mod # 2?.

- Can mod # 2 (Venting the shroud) be done without doing # 1?

If they can be done separately, which would have the greatest effect quieting the rifle?

Which should be done first?

And why?

Again

Thanks for your patience with a novice

You are very welcome and don't sweat it man!

Yes, you can skip ventilating the shroud, it is not imperative that you do that it just allows the shrouds entire cavity to become a controlled expansion chamber.

Doing #2 without #1 will have zero benefit as the air will never make down the shroud to the ventilation/breather holes due to the factory solid rubber block that seals the cavity at only 6"
of the chamber at the muzzle end of the barrel.
