Tuning Tuning a Benjanin Pitbull (Bulldog) for Long Range

I bought one and sent it to Brian Thurman at Veradium Air.. He did a moderate power tune as I requested, at what I felt a very reasonable price. I don't want to hunt anything bigger than a coyote (no deer, and we have no feral hogs where I live). I currently shoot slugs from Mr. Hollowpoint in the 116-150gr range. Very happy with mine.

I just picked up a power tuned pitbull, 5 shots gets me to 2000psi. Not happy with the accuracy using 178 gr .358 hp and 142 g .357 hp from nsa. Would you recommend the lighter rounds? No HP?

It is likely the barrel's inside diameter giving you accuracy issues. You should "slug" your barrel to see what diameter of projectile it likes. Then order some in that diameter, or buy a press and die set to size them accordingly. Those two slugs should fly excellent at longer ranges if sized correctly to the barrel.

Alternatively, it could be how that barrel is (or is not) supported by the shroud. A higher powered Bulldog may need that addressed to "calm down" the barrel harmonics at the shot.
