Post up a full string w/fill & end psi and lot's of people here would know right where your marauder is running tune wise.

Back before everything was a video a friend posted this blog:

https://avveduti.wordpress.com/2010/04/17/marauder-project-22-tuning-part-1/ click around and read all his marauder stuff, trigger... it is a gen 1 but just the same for your needs and is very clear.

.... just needed to lose the very end of the url that spysir provided. Iron - google will truly be your friend AND searching this and other forums - the m-rods (as you'll learn they are commonly called) are really easy to pull apart and put back together / tune / mod with after market parts ( although the latter becoming harder to come across? ) In any case - it sounds as though you have a chrony - that'll be your main tool for testing / evaluating. Good luck - have fun with it!

I have a Marauder F&T. It's regulated and I actually lowered the velocity of the JSB 10.34's I use to around 865 fps/17 ft.lb. It's very accurate and I get over 80 shots per fill.

If you want to increase your power there are a lot of videos out there. You always want to start with a completely degassed gun. Be absolutely sure.

From what I've read you open the transfer port by removing the cover screw and turning in the screw, then backing it out the indicated number of turns. (Or you could just remove the entire valve housing from the air tube, and visually set it).

Screw out the hammer screw to increase distance, and screw in the hammer spring to increase force. There is a lot of info out there for the exact number of turns. But that is the long and short of it. Many pellets are good at 900 fps, but it's a mistake to trade power for accuracy, unless your targets are real close.

By far, best mod for Mrods wanting high fpe/900fps+ with decent efficiency, is a balanced valve. No doubt the best bang for the buck imo.

I've got the now unobtanium JSAR balanced valve for a while now and its all you need. Makes the Mrod a real powerhouse all by itself. And quiets down the mechanical hammer noise as very light spring tension is all thats needed. I would assume less wear and tear also as the stock mrod light spring tension keeps wear and tear down. Compared to a 12/17lb spring wound up tight some guys are using with heavy hammers, trying to squeeze all the power out of the stock valve any way they can...

There is a way to modify, drill out and machine out the stock valve to flow much better. But how does that saying go, lipstick on a pig, but its still a pig...

Other manufactures do make good Mrod valves, but I don't know which one is best or available. Hopefully someone will chime in that knows.

agree.... JSAR balanced valve tunes very easy for power or shot count, light nylon hammer is smooth and works great, maybe air gun pro shop " can let us know when they will start to see JSAR mrod parts, this gun in the picture has a extra long aluminum air tube , it was a regulated field n target but all that has changed … new hole in stock to see gage reg . pressure. the gun is still lighter with the bipod than it was without the bipod and the stock air tube! just keep throwing money at it , they get pretty nice!!! this one is....
