Trouble sighting in X-Sight 4k Pro 3X14

I received it on Friday I zero'd it at 25 yards with my Benjamin Marauder .22 cal. My previous scope I could shoot .5" at 40-45 yards. I was almost shooting same hole at 25 yards with the ATN Scope, but when I started moving things out further I couldnt even get a 3" grouping. I tried to do a ballistic profile. That only made things worse. I was hitting 1.5 inch plates at 70 yards relatively easily with a Centerpoint scope before. Now with the ATN I cant even judge at 70 yards where I am. Today I spent an Hour and a half trying to zero it at 50 yards thinking maybe this will help but its almost impossible to see the holes in the paper. I would have to go down range put a piece of tape then do the adjustments. Every time I adjusted it went some where random again. I mean I am talking 6 inches down or to the right almost never anything resembling the previous shot. Which with these same exact pellets I know on a bad day I was hitting 1.5" at 50 yards. I then figured maybe adjusting with ballistics would some how affect the outcome which I do believe it does. I believe having Ballistics on effects the zeroing process. I still have not had a group of 3 shots within 5 Inches of each other now I am starting to think maybe I should stick with a shorter zero yardage wise but I like to shoot 50 yards + since its more challenging. I am not really a hunter just like tinkering and trying to get my best groupings. I have 100 yards to play with in my backyard. Which I see online a bunch of people hunting with the atn on airguns hitting pigeons dead on from 50 yards sometimes even out to 70 plus yards. A lot of times they have to be using ballistics because they aren't holding over or anything. I am just trying to figure if this scope is right for me. I do have a racoon problem in my yard at night I wanted to use the NV and maybe pick a few off at night. They would be 35-50 yard shots, but if I cant get a good zero I dont know if this scope is worth its price. Just wondering if anyone has any hints or similar problems that they cured. Or am I S.O.O.L. Thank you for your time.

Have you tried resetting the scope to "like new" and then starting over? They are a bit picky on the SD card you need to use a good one or things can get corrupted. You might try it without the card as well. Else if your mounts are tight and these things are taken care of I would say you may have a bad unit on your hands. Give them a call and see what they have too say. Good luck in your endeavor.

Edit;

Oh, and formatting the card on the scopes seems to werq best.

I reset to factory settings after the firmware update, I also formatted the Micro sd card when I installed it. I just got back from using a different pellets and seems to be good without the ballistic calculator on. Still not hitting 1.5" groups at 50 yards but I am down to 2-3 inches. I did try at 70 yards with using the ballistic calculator and it seems to be way off. I was hitting 4 inches high and 3-4 inches left. I guess as of right now I will be just guesstomating 70 yard+ shots. Has anyone actually got the ballistic calculator to work with pellets yet? As in Zeroing at 30 yards and dialing in the distance to 70 yards and be dead on yet?

Correct as stated above ballistic calculator should be turned off when zeroing. I sighted in at 25 and hitting what I want at 100. As for seeing what you are hitting at that distance you need to get yourself some splatter targets to see where you are hitting. Make sure you are using the front parallax on the front to get a clearer image. Once you have your zero than you can play with the information and turn on the ballistic calculator, if you don't have the abl or the handheld range finder you have to manually input the distance if you know the intended distance. Feel free to shoot me a pm and I can't try my best to help you get it working.

So I sighted in 16 GR Air Arms today at 30 yards then gave it another whirl at 70 yards. I was hitting close to where I was aiming within 5 inches. I kept playing with the settings. I could not dial it in with the ballistics calculator. Unfortunately I ran out of daylight while trying different things. I am using Drag Function GL(after googling I guess GL is the best profile for a pellet). I started at .028 Coefficient and started adjusting around and ending up in the .036 range seem to be the closest. I guess I will keep dialing it in. Does everyone change their temps/barometric pressure/ altitude every time? I cant figure out what auto sync does in the weather app on the phone. Seems to me that it rounds up Ballistic Coefficient if you go to .028 it will round up to .03 but when I do small changes say .024 to .027 it does seem to adjust those small amounts in the ballistic calculators estimates. I could be wrong though. I have my ABL Rangefinder coming in the mail. Hopefully be here tomorrow. Hoping that will help things a little.

I just realized that I think my major problem with the ballistics calculator lies with the compass. It starts in the right orientation then slowly rotates 180 degrees. Which when there is a wind its adjusting for it screws the whole thing up. I have calibrated every time I have used it then after 15 minutes it goes back to 180 degrees the wrong way. I have the latest firmware. I am thinking it is a faulty unit. Has anyone else had this problem?
