hey guys, am looking for a tripod which can be used to get as close to benchrest accuracy as possible. Something that can take the weight of a crown or a leshiy. And something which doesn’t break the bank. I saw a few tripods from really right stuff but they are close to a 1000 $. I want something which can last for a long time and is sturdy. Any advice would be appreciated.

Patriot Valley arms has a similar bipod to RRS " that is if they ever got them in.
2 vets has one also but is not as sturdy.as RRS.
Leophoto as well.
From what I've read the RRS coupled with the Anvil 30 is as good as it's going to get and everything else falls behind it.My friend has said combo, it's ridiculous how steady it is! I could shoot a FT match standing using one of these and stand a good chance of winning it.

Sirui makes great tripods for a two-three hundred bucks. They’re very well made, carbon fiber, strong, light and sturdy. Check them out before you buy something else, hard to beat for the price. Stoti

I have used the caldwell field pod for a very long time. They are extremely durable and I believe it will do exactly what you need. Fairly cheap also. Hope this helps.

I use this and have tripods and Bypods also. But use it and Caldwell bags and a couple other brands of bags as well most of the time.
Have it setup in the shade in my patio in the shade. Carry it for ground squirrel hunting in the back of the 4-runner and isn't too heavy for an old guy.

Nothing wrong with a tripod but in competitions your using a bench so I would rather shoot off a bench to keep sharp. Sometimes you can get a better deal on heavy duty tripod made for photography you just need to add a different just look at Amazon under heavy duty video tripods. Video cameras tent to be heavier so the tripods are stronger and have cross braces.

I just ordered the Caldwell chair. They have tempted me and $50 off and free shipping worked. There are no ideal solutions That chair is bigger and heavier then ideal but I want to try it. My plan is to use it groundhog hunting. I know lots of guys shoot prone off bipods. I just can’t make that work

I’ve used the Original Deadshot for a lot of years and see no reason to stop using it, also have a Mono Pod That has served me well when I walk and stalk during deer season, I even use them both with my crossbows.
