Town to Highway miles, mmm.

I have this compressor and I’m thinking about selling it. Reason why? Well, I simply don’t use it much at all. As the hour meter shows, 3 hours & 10 minutes, which in lies my indecisiveness. This is a splash lubricated 100% cycle duty compressor. Meaning it’s built to run 10 hours straight if need be. It takes less than 5 minutes for it to fill my 44cf from 2200-4500 & that’s a minute warm up & cool down. I don’t know if I’d be better off getting a big upright cylinder and filling my little 44 off that or running compressor more often & filling a 44 to 88 cf cylinder. I’m told it’s best to run a compressor like this for a longer time than to start & stop often. But actual dealer says it doesn’t matter. That this will out live me either way. What say you guys?

Maybe I sell this, use my Hill & a new Huben hand pump again. Get back in shape?

AlkinW31E but I’m not sure what I want to do with it. They have a 2 year full warranty. In fact I’m happy with the company. I didn’t like the lever yoke so guy made me another with control knob & bleeder valve.

It’s really meant for a dive shop or paintball field. So I’m trying to see what guys who know thermal dynamics & all the Engineering think of short start ups to long runs. I was told long ago it’s better to start them up more often to get oil in internal parts.

I dunno looking at the hour meter I think you have a problem?

You considered this one?

One is 60Hz the other is 50Hz.

I’m not sure what you see wrong with it, but I’m pretty sure my Wife, who’s a boss of a commercial electrical crew, & her own business would have told me if anything was wrong when she ran the dedicated line. Also I was asked if I wanted 110, 220 single or three phase, gas or diesel. Since 220 is cheaper to run I went with that. Plus gas is $400 more. Since it’s so quiet it’s not a problem. You can hold a conversation right next to it as I’ll show in video when I time my fill & watch hour counter.

Edit: If you’re not in USA I understand now why you might have thought wrong meter. Our 60Hz cycle isn’t as efficient as European systems. I know some German businessman that don’t like their plants inefficiency here.

your kidding us..correct..I mean its the top dog for serious air gunning ...I know its the one I want..he he...your kidding right..you have it and thinking of selling..

If you meant mine or The Daystate I feel I must point out both are good; but neither of ours are in the next category up.

I’m a fan of Alkin & ATP has a 6K step down in-line reg I want to buy from him. I don’t mind shooting tethered for accuracy. Also, being fair, they get even better; but this is a $20,000 4 stage milled block compressor.

Picture is of 4 stage block only. Add frame, motor, fan, etc. but better view of it here.

This runs cooler, faster, less stress on itself by adding a 4th stage piston. I’m just pointing it out. They do offer 3 stage in the $9000 arena. Same as Alkin’s linked to ATP site. Top quality is a large chunk of change and I don’t see a need unless you own a paintball field, range, fire department or filling banks of 6000psi 400+ Cubic Feet cylinders like Nitrogen comes in.
Arctic is Bauer’s competitor. Both fine products but beyond my needs. I do admire them, though I think I’ll stick with Alkin.

I’m not sure what you see wrong with it ... *snip* ... You can hold a conversation right next to it as I’ll show in video when I time my fill & watch hour counter.

I was teasing/joking with you about 60Hz versus 50Hz, sorry if I didn't come across as doing so. It wasn't meant as malicious but more along the lines of used car salesman tactics -- IE -- "You should sell it to me at a discount because the hour meter is bad". It was meant purely as a friendly joke :)

BTW fun fact -- Japan has both 50Hz and 60Hz as part of their grid.
