Could members chime in on your pick for a rangefinder? (hopefully not Chinese or Taiwanese chromatic aberration kings)

Seems golfers use them a lot and sure they put the name golf on it kicks up the price every time

Thanks in advance for your pick

Never had one under $250 as I began with long-range powder burners; but interested in lower priced equipment

🔸Love the looks of this one (discontinued since a good while):

Bushnell. Scout DX 1000 ARC. 6×21

Bought it used at a really good price. Still kicking strong. Ranging pigeons on telephone wires at 40y away no problem.

🔸Needed a backup (because when things break here in Peru it might take 6 months to a year before a replacement makes it down to me….):

    SIG Sauer. Kilo1400 BDX. 6x20mm

This has a brighter image (despite the objective lens being 1mm smaller). Looks good, too, but was more exponsive than the Bushnell.

    Both models:

â–ªRanging accuracy is 0.5 yards (at 100y and under). And display precision is 0.1y. In other words, that provides the kind of precision we need when lobbing pellets waaaay out there with the terrible trajectories that we get in airgunning.

    â–ªAngle measurement

    â–ªYards and meters

Got this one that now mounts in many positions and you don't have to look away

I just rabbit holes this exact thing pretty badly for a while.

Non negotiable features I wanted were:

    1. Illuminated read out
    2. Angle compensation
    3. Good warranty because I'm rough on gear.
    4. Ranging down to 5 yards

The only unit that hit all for under 300, which was my max, was the Athlon Midas 1 Mile. Delivered today, so I haven't had it in the field yet but this far I'm pleased enough.

I got it for $253 delivered from optics planet, including a 5% off promo. That price was $30-40 less than I was seeing it anywhere else, fwiw.

I had told Larcat I'd check my daily emails from Dvor for a rangefinder sale. I believe he's already received his but thought I'd post this.

I subscribed to Dvor but have never ordered through them so can't share any positive or negative experiences. Not logged in at the moment to list the prices out.
