Just got back from shooting my 44-10. .25 cal …Weighed up some pellets. Wanted to see if it made any difference at only 20 yards. This is what I ended up with.
Unsorted out of the box. jsb 33.95 gr
    Sorted pellets ready

    unsorted

    Sorted by wight only.

One thing I did find out is a need a lot more time under the trigger….. : )
My wife wanted to shoot the rifle….so I set her up and got her warmed up….Then asked her if she would like to have a competition… man, against the untrained little woman. This is what she did….

That was 9 shots at 25 yards….first time to shoot an air rifle. She gave me the big whooping…..gezzzz…. I was proud of her. She is a great pistol shot and now air guns.
And I did throw some paint on my Hatson stock. Looks better than stock.

    Had a great day….got a good old a$$ whipping….And learned that I need a bunch of trigger time. PS….she whipped me twice….beginners luck…I think not.. : )

Richard glad you are getting some trigger time and starting to proceed with testing. It nice to see your wife enjoying herself too. I would say to really test your rifles accuracy you need to set your target out further and shoot some actual groups. Now for me I do mostly hunting and pesting with my air rifle. For example for shooting rats I will select a pellet that I think will do a good job killing the rats. Then shoot it at the maximum yardage I expect to shoot say 35 yards and see if the accuracy holds up. For shooting grey tree squirrels I will do the same testing but set the target up at 50 yards. Bill after the weather gets better here I will be stretching out the yardage. I have been reading a lot on tuning up the 44 10. I have learned to do a few things so far but have a long way to go. I cant wait till the weather breaks and I can get out there. This next year I will be learning how to judge the wind and just get some trigger time in. By next year ….this time…. I hope I learn a thing or too and be better equipped for this air gun fun.

Women are usually very good shots, they do what they are told. A man makes a mistake , blames the gun or sight or rest, or weather, or wind. Men constantly make changes to the set up, instead of admission of mistake, and improving themselfs. Thanks all Jeff

Haha, really enjoyed this post Richard. That is wonderful that your wife spends some trigger time with ya. My bride usually puts me to shame as well.
My hat is off to you and your Mrs.! I envy that indoor range 😉

Yes…but now she is getting a littler cocky….We enjoy ribbing each other…Most of the time Im the one that is joking with her…but this time she got the upper hand.
The indoor range is great. But it is only 25 yards. The weather around here in Wisconsin is not the best for shooting outside when its 10 below wind chill. So i joined the range to get some trigger time. I enjoy your posts also …sounds like you have a lot of fun also. You have a great one.
