Tominco's FX Crown (pic heavy!)

Hi Racingbirds,
I strongly sympathize with your complaint about the sharp jagged hole in the receiver of the Crown you bought....it is just one more example of FX's insane "engineering as an afterthought". It is as if when the first gun was put together the worker went to the boss and pointed out that they had forgotten to incorporate a way to access a screw, and the boss said, "Just punch a hole in the damn things and ship them out...and hurry up because we are already months behind our proposed release date!"

It seems several of these FX rifles suffer from this same malaise. However, I suggest you try an FX Streamline if you would like to experience one of the best FX air rifles ever created. The Streamline is absolute perfection in its simplicity! It is lightweight, points well, and shoots like a laser while remaining free of the types of defects that seem to plague many of their other designs. The Streamline was obviously designed by someone who is just as much of a perfectionist as me and you are, and who was also a real stickler for detail. I want you to buy a .25 caliber Streamline, install a Huma regulator, and adjust the hammer spring adjustment nut to about 9 1/4 turns in, which will give you about 61 ft. pounds energy. Then I want you to install a Wika airgauge in the air tank which will allow you to fill your new rifle up to 300 bar instead of 230...And Viola! You will have one of the most powerful, most accurate, ergonomically perfect, simply elegant .25 caliber air rifles on planet earth!

You can do this all for much less than the $1800.00 you spent on that Crown that was such a disappointment to you. And trust me when I tell you that you will never miss all those hokey adjustment knobs and dials...because once you set up your rifle to the velocity you have chosen to shoot the pellet of your choice you will never need to adjust it ever again anyway! The only reason that FX had to provide all that adjustability anyway is because the factory regulators will just not hold a setting and require constant readjustment . Brother Racingbirds, take my advice...buy a .25 Streamline and put a happy smile back on your face...it personifies the perfection that you and I expect when we spend these kind of dollars.

All the best, Chuck
