The new Tomcat Airguns studio needed a door to keep the sawdust out. So... I built one!
A few months ago, I got a bunch of 2x4 rough cut cedar off the closeout (cull) rack on a whim. I knew a project would present itself eventually. I also picked up NIB door hinges for $1 a piece a long time ago. The only thing I paid full price for was the door knob. All in all, I think I spent $30.
Pretty basic design. I cut a channel in the outer frame, cut the 2x4's in half and planed them to the thickness I wanted, cut the edges in a tongue and groove style, figured angles and started stacking them.
Not too shabby, if I do say so myself!
Opens and closes perfectly! I even made the door jamb out of the leftover lumber.
I think I'll make a sign for the door at some point.
During a break, I almost caught a picture of "Bob". It's a ground squirrel that I live trapped and transplanted when I moved. The little buggers tail is hanging off the built-in bench on my front deck. It's just above the tip of the left crosshair. Bob's not for shooting though. I'm hoping he finds a friend and makes more! Since it was a late season transplant, I've been tossing out food to him to help him through the Winter.
