Ruger Superpoint 16.97 .22

was just at Walmart on my way home from work and remembered I only had around 50 pellets in my tin for my springer, so I decided to see what they had to offer outside of the Crossman Premeirs.

The only other choice was a 200 count tin of Ruger Superpoints. They were $5.97 for the tin and the weight was up their, so I figured I'd give them a shot

these are NOT going to be good pellets I don't think... Looking at the skirts I can see that they are far from even, the heads on them are also far from perfect. Some have really thick seems and others don't. As far as size goes they are visually much bigger than the Crossman Premeirs, so they LOOK fun :)

I will give a shooting report later on. Time to hit the hay for now.

Alright team, these pellets are ABYSMAL! I took a series of 4 shots with my springer and got 4 shots on paper with the Crossman Premeirs. After changing pellets and making the same exact shots, I got 2 pellets BARELY on paper and 2 in the wood.

These Rugers spun wildly to the left immediately upon leaving the barrel. the quality control is non existent. The skirts are all wavy (this is one of the better ones) the seam on some of them are massive! The heads are slightly deformed and they are all over the board weight wise.

First picture shows one of the better skirts on these pellets and the second picture shows me standing directly in front of my target and shows the distance in which I am shooting from. I shoot out of the middle window from our carriage house @26 yards (sighted for 23)

I choose to shoot from the carriage house because the main house is 43 yards from the Carriage house and the birds love to sit on our main house (getting more and more Leary) after chasing them from the carriage house.

Needless to say, these pellets are GARBAGE, here is what they shoot like.

I know these aren't the tightest groups and I can do better, but for what I was doing I wasn't needing to get in the red. I needed to make sure the Crossman were shooting "on point" and with the wind howling I felt confident this was acceptable. I did actually really try with the Rugers... Very poor

Was trying to post from my phone, but this forum HATES mobile phones, you just can't type and scroll. It's unbelievable. So I posted and had to get the laptop out.

I should have known from the price something was up... I thought to myself "hmm, 1.1 grams is slightly on the heavier side, these should group decent" HA!

When I opened the tin I was immediately rewarded with what looked like much larger pellets and was starting to get excited. Right when I picked up a few I immediately lost all my excitement and knew these weren't going to do very well. Sure enough, they are garbage. With all the extra lead on them these will definitely foul a barrel up pretty quick.

I will say, I like the design of them. I only have my premiers to compare them too for now, but the heads look like they would produce a bit more damage the way they flare in comparison to the premiers.

I am still extra excited every time I shoot my springer, and especially when she is feeling generous and drops pellet on pellet, but I am SOOO READY for my Krosa pup to get here.
