THOUGHTS ABOUT A VIRTUAL PISTOL COMPETITION.

Ray,

I think that's just the file name. Leo will have to chime in on that, I'm a tech moron, so I'm definitely not the guy to ask.

The official ISSF and NRA approved pistol target is called the B-40 target.

The other target is called either the A-36, or the AR 5 target. They are the same target, it's just that the A-36 is technically a 50ft smallbore rifle international target.

For those wanting to actually shoot those 2 targets, they can be had on Amazon relatively cheap, which is why I posted the actual target denotations. This way, scoring will be a little bit easier and precise for those who wish to purchase them. They'll give cleaner holes compared to regular printing paper.

Tom,

We can use these targets.

Hey Tom

I noticed that both those targets say A4, does that mean we will have to modify them to get it to print on 8 1/2 x 11 paper?

Thanks

Ray

Ray,

Just print them at 100% scale or actual size. Do not use scaled to fit when printing. A4 is almost the same width but a little bit longer than a 8 1/2" x 11" sized paper.

I'm in but I can only shoot 8meter or less like 7 meter...

All very accurate shooters...

8 Meters (err, yards) is what they shoot at Diablo but they say it is 10..

I think you can shoot it 8 meters. I would reduce your score by 20% or multiply it by 0.8 factor. This would add a handicap compared to someone shooting at the official 10m distance. Or you can figure out a way to print the targets at 80% of the actual size.

Just my opinion.

Nation,

Been busy, rules should be posted in a day or 2, along with target downloads.

I've decided on the 2 targets that will be used for the 10 meter portion, one of which might be used for the 5 meter portion. It could be a rifle or pistol target proper, but it will be a target that no one should clean, but satisfying the desire to shoot a "high" score.

Keep checking here, I'll make a separate post that will be able to be pinned at the top of the page by moderators, so the rules and classes will be able to be seen for reference. Plus, I won't have to put the classes and rules in every post, every week.

Stay tuned,

Woo Hoo

This should be fun :)

Mike, Nation,

I'll be starting a new rules thread, all classes and rules will be listed. I'm going to request that Michael to lock it at the top of the page, so everyone can find the rules, classes, and targets for quick and easy reference ( plus I won't have to continually post it every week)

I'm looking at having the scores in by every Friday night at midnight, starting with next week.

Look for my rules and classes later tonight.

As I said, I'll turn NO ONE AWAY, shoot what you got. No prizes, no winners, just a lot of shooting FUN!!!
