This little guy was oblivious about where he decided to sit today.

While shooting my Edgun Leshiy into the back yard today, the pictured bird decided to hang out on my target holder while shot after shot hit the target. He would occasionally fly off but always quickly returned. Lucky for him I don't use living things as targets......unless they make pests of themselves, which this guy wasn't.

I had the same happen last year: I was shooting my 2” spinners at 100 yards with my .25 cal RAW, and had a bunny hop into the target area about 3-4 feet away and just sit there while I continued to hit the spinners! It was crazy because they spin around and ‘clank’ as they get caught on the resetting bar. Then you shoot the top target to drop them back down. I must have hit 10-15 times and finally waited a litte longer and he left. He must have been deaf, LOL.

He was nice company to have while shooting...

I think you've got a Western Kingbird there. Cool little birds. Most pictures of them show a more yellow breast but the ones around my place in Northern Arizona have the brown/bronze chest like yours. They're bug eaters. They get a free pass around my place. They've got quite the personality. My wife's grandparents had some nesting on their porch a few years ago, the kids would climb up to try to see the chicks and momma would get pretty worked up. They're fun to watch as they catch flying bugs, pretty acrobatic.

I'm a little bit of a birder, but I'll dang sure whack a Euro dove, starling, or English House Sparrow.

WOW! Just the sound of my sliding screen door opening causes every bird within ear shot scattering AND I don’t even shoot birds on my property! The only birds I’ve shot over the last couple of years have been game birds and even that has stopped since I had to put Buster down last year. I’ve never had a bird land near my target stand when punching paper.

A few years ago whenever I went to my back yard shooting lane for practice this "reptilian shootin' buddy" would perch on top of my log back stop and watch the show. I'm thinking that pellets hitting the back stop and the wood splinters attracted the lizard, however he/she showed up for almost all practice sessions that season. It even became rather tame allowing a close up pic........
