25 caliber 26.8 gr. NSA probably traveling about 880 fps when it hit the squirrel. Shot was through shoulder but a bit too high, missing the boiler room. No worries. Wound channel was HUGE and obliterated spine. Squirrel fell in place.
This is why I'm so enamored by NSA HP's.

If the NSA's don't do anything else they EXPAND. The blunt nose only make them more devastating, shot a squirrel @20y with .30cal 43gr over 900fps, no pass thru. I might experiment with using fillers in some NSA slugs to maybe reduced expansion and help penetration, thinking of using wood glue to fill the cavity.

Nick at NSA is a very nice Guyana very easy to talk with. You should tell him your needs. He can either tell you why he thinks it has not worked or lets try that.
He is just as interested in finding a winner.

Yes, I've spoken with him once or twice. I have no complaints, the slugs dispatch what I shoot at no problems. Between NSA and Griffin every niche is full. I had my doubts about how the NSA would preform on raccoon sized targets, I recently took 2 with the 49gr slugs, and they worked very very well.
