Make sure you wear safety glasses when shooting the Bug A Salt. Salt in your eye won't feel too good.

Don't forget to post your salt groupings at 4 feet as well as your chrono string for the gun.

Does it work with "Rock Salt"? Every time I try to lay my hands on one of these they are sold out. 
I remember when I lived in Washington state years ago prototyping the "Slug Blaster" (Water Gun with salt water fill).
This was before the "Super Soaker" existed and would have been a marketing reality if I had not moved to non Banana Slug country before fruition of the idea was realized.

Just got home from taking the kids fishing. After cleaning all the fish, my son and I had some fun shooting bugs off the night light by my shop door. Really is surprisingly fun. The kids get a huge kick out of it. They collect all the dead bugs and feed them to the chickens.

Overall, it is a cool toy and thus far it functions without flaw. The pump action isn't to difficult to operate, but the auto safety can be a pain. The trigger is very heavy and is difficult for my 6 year old to fire.
Seems that about 3 feet is perfect as the salt "pattern" is about perfect with plenty of fpe. So far I have only shot "non" iodized Morton salt. Might have to try iodized and other brands in hopes of finding the perfect ammo. I did not get any better patterns after polishing the barrel. I might back bore it next? Maybe some screw on choke tubes? Also sorry to report I couldn't get any chrono data. Maybe I need a better chronograph to read salt speed? I think it prefers a modified artillery hold for those wondering about hold sensitivity.
In all seriousness, the trigger is difficult for young kids to pull and the auto safety can take some getting used too, but it is overall worthwhile.

Mine just died last summer . I guess a week with teenagers was too much for it. I was able to limp it a long for another 2 months but the autosafety and the salt feed mechanism broke. I want another but thought the $45 for a fly swatter is too much.
I might be down for a group buy though if the price could be $35 shipped. My wife and neighbor thought it was hilarious that i was shooting flies near the chicken coop. I wasted a lot of time hunting them suckers.....

LOL, I bought one to match my Steyr. It is useless at 55 yards, but at 1-3 feet it is alot of fun. Flys buzzing around the patio and spiders on the ceiling in the garage don't stand a chance. Don't shoot at the similarly colored yellow jackets unless you have your running shoes on !!
The automatic safety can be easily fixed with a couple drops of super glue No other mods to date. It chrony's from 173 to 219 with a bunch of ERR3s.
