Thinking of starting postal matches?

want to know interested parties for postal matches of 50 or 75yrds limited to .177 only! This would be totally online ( and on ones own merits!, just expect everyone’s honesty, anyone participating I’m sure would be...) it could be for group or score? Group shooting would be easier & probably cheaper? No specific targets to purchase or make? Let me know we can work format and details if enough interest?

Lol i first thought oh god your gonna shoot at the mailbox? I would be interested but unfortunately my layoff just ended so i wont have nearly as much time to shoot (of course the checkbook is very happy about the return to work) so i guess depending on frequency and timeing count me in. (Hows that for a definite almost maybe?)

Count me in. Groups shooting may be easier to manage than full blown BR score cards. Either way, I think it would be fun.

Yep, I’m thinking group shooting also! best five or ten shot group of each month? Keep it semi-informal but mostly want to keep it FUN & SIMPLE!, just post your group by the 25th of each month, keep the ideas coming, maybe start in August?

Sounds good to me. Shall we set a particular distance as our standard? I can manage 25 yards at home or farther at my local range.

I was going for min. of 50yds or even 75yds, mainly because most don’t associate.177 for those distances?, just for something different!

I'll try and post some groups. We had a standing 10 meter challenge going last winter on this forum. It was a lot of fun. This should be interesting, 50 and 75 yards with .177... Can we measure the groups in feet?!

50 yards is great for a 177 its where things start to get interesting. so far ive taken it out to 150!

I think it will definitely be a challenge!, ( good way to learn the wind, pellets, velocity’s etc. of the .177 cal.! ) probably should start @ 50yds then move to 75, main thing is keep it informal & fun!

Ok!, shot these this morning, no wind-0-3mph, 52yds measured, 10.3’s JSB’s @ 925fps weighed,4.53dia.1st group-6 shots 1-flyer?, 2nd group 10- shots, 3rd group 6- shots... not bad for this gun...

Thanks man!, 1st group 3rd shot flyer, thought something special was brewing, thats why I went with 6 shots... 2nd group was all over the place so just kept shooting? 3rd group lots of vertical? Wasn’t wind I know that! The group to the left was a different gun and pellets 30 yds, a couple days earlier...

nomo.. what barrel did you shoot these groups with in your raw.. poly and standard?.. also my gun came from martin doing 920 tops

when I sent my raw bm 500 177 to shoot jsb 10.3s to 885 the accuracy got much better. than what is was doing..

That’s the Poly shooting 10.3’s, this gun is set up to shoot the 13.4’s, but I shoot the lighter pellets at distance and yes there is a specific reason why I do this...

Ok- round 2, different gun, different day!, wind 3-8mph switchy!, 52yds same pellet 10.3jsb 880fps 3-10rd groups, not bad?, I didn’t watch the flags well...

Not bad for me anyway!, if I would’ve been a little more patient probably could have done better?, gun is capable of better!

Wind died down today and I shot these groups at 50 yards with my RAW TM1000 .177 with a poly barrel. Shot the JSB Monsters at 805 fps. Smallest 50 yard group I ever shot and it's with a .177. Go figure.

I can't go out to 75 yards because I use this same action for field target and it's got a Sightron Slll on it set up to range from 10 - 55 yards.

Ok!, I quit... who’s dumb Idea was this anyway? Man that’s nice!, my poly Tm is close to those groups,/ monster’s also, but my 12 groove w/ 10.3’s not so much... of course if they had someone who new what they were doing shooting them... might be a different story! Good groups Chas. Thought I would ad this group shot while changing scopes yesterday 12 groove w/heavies, no where as good as yours chas, for me good though!
