The optisan 6x24-56 viper scope,
Its being replaced with the Optisan SVX scope.
I just think simple is better and have the Viper on two of my guns and just love the scope.
But its being replaced with one that has a lot of bells and whistles, Sight glass, a dial this for that and a super adjuster.
I will have to take a collage class to figure this thing out,
I think it sucks, Ted loved it.
Oh, price and date is TBA , That just sounds bad to me.

Where did the Optisan Viper sit in the pecking order compared to their other 6-24x56 models? It looks like they offer the 6-24x56 Taipan model under their "precision air rifle" heading for $600. Was the Viper more expensive?

Out of curiosity, what made it your favorite? I haven't tried one but I know you have a lot of gear so it peaked my interest.

it sucks when they discontinue a product you like but the good news is that there seems to be quite a lot of exciting new scope products coming out at the moment. Maybe you'll find one you like better. I keep hearing how much better new scopes are than they were 5 years ago...

I am excited to see what the new Athlon models are going to be like and what the actual street price will be. The Helos 6-24x50 looks very interesting and if I was in the market for another SFP scope, the Midas 4.5-27 would be tempting.

I am far from an expert on scopes, I really only started using scopes a few years back with the PCP hobby, I always liked open sites ,
The only think I can compare the 0 - Viper to is the Hawke sidewinder 30 in 4-16x50,
I have heard a lot of good things about the Athlon line of scopes and it seem for the money they are heard to beat.
I have not even picked up a gun in 3 or 4 weeks , Long story, Health story, Not related to guns.
Better days are coming .
