There are some nice deals out there this time of year

Saw this TX 200 listed in a classified listing yesterday for a reasonable price. It has an adjustable butt pad added and a cocking lever grip (no great shakes but the gun is like new to boot) Looked at the sellers no. and couldn't believe it, it's in the city where my shop is.....what are the chances? Called the guy and we talked for 1/2 hour about the gun and made plans to get together some I could see it. (He literally lives 5 miles away) So this morning he visited my shop and brought the gun. I got to shoot it and I bought it on the spot. Now the good part....he said he had some extra parts to go with the gun if I bought it.

So the "extra" parts are:

1 stock original spring - full power

1 stock 12 ftlbs spring he ordered from England

1 V Mach full power kit

1 Vortek full power kit

And the gun has a Vortek 12 ftlbs kit installed in it now.

Extra seals Vortek & V Mach & Air Arms

Breech seals

All the original bolts ( the gun has all stainless installed)

And extra small internal hardware.

That's all.....Lol

Delivered. I feel almost guilty. (Almost)

The owner explained that he couldn't get the hang of shooting a springer and after trying every thing he could think of, he just wanted to sell it and buy a PCP.

Keep an eye on the classifieds every day! The deals are out there.

Brislee,

That is awesome!
Congrats on finding a good deal, great setup, and also getting to meet another good guy!

In my experience on here - Chatting with people through their classified ad posts has been really cool.
I've also found a few good deals, but more importantly, I've 'met' some really great members,
and even found a few with a bunch of other hobbies in common..

I'll second your advise.. Always keep an eye in there.. You never know what you'll find..

🙂

Sam -

Excellent purchase. I bought a Santa Rosa R1 off of Craigslist a few months back...paid under $300...it had a chopped off 13" barrel with a hair curler brake and a non-OE trigger guard, but had been tuned and buttoned by a well known tuner and shot accordingly. Replaced the barrel and guard, and I'm very happy with this well worn veteran! Not a collector's edition to be sure, but with the purchase, I made a new friend, very knowledgeable in air rifles!

Thanks guys, yea it was great to meet Ed. He was here at my shop this morning for an hour and a half talking airguns. Like he said "5 miles apart and unless he sold his gun he wouldn't have met me". He has never shot in competition, always wanted to - didn't know they were around here for airguns. Only ever shot an air rifle at rats and squirrels. Now he'll get a chance to shoot some competitions if he wants to.
