Theoben underlevers

Theoben marked Dual Magnum- two strokes makes 36 ft lbs unaltered right from the factory with the ability to shoot at 25fpe by cocking once. The most powerful non custom piston gun ever made.

I don't know the cocking lbs and as the name suggests "Dual" these can be cocked once OR twice! The only rifle of its kind, the piston is driven further back in the compression tube (longer stroke= more power). An additional 200 fps is gained from the first stroke to the second, the schrader valve does not need to be touched. But like most Theobens the valve at the back can be accessed to lower the pressure or refill after maintenance. This rifle can actually fire as low as 12fpe for the first stroke and 20fpe for the second making it easily the most versatile piston rifle ever made. There were only about 104 made and only came in .22

Interesting! I guess that means the shaft on the piston has two sear notches? How accurate is it at high power?

I mentioned above 104, there is no possible way to know how many are where now that Theoben is no more and with sales to and or from the UK.

Apologies, I some how missed your post about the serial number. Don't want you to think I saw the post and was questioning your number ;) The rareness of the rifle just intrigued me so I went hunting and found a 2010 forum post on it (which was where I got my info.).

Thanks for sharing the images. You are fortunate to own a unique rifle.

Very interesting rifles for sure Mike!!!

Someday I'll add a Dualie to the collection...

I do have a couple SLRs though...Beeman marked early carbine in .22 and a later model thumb hole carbine in .177!

Have the .177 shooting at about 11.5 fpe and one of my favorites to shoot! Magazines are kinda overrated in my opinion but with single shot tray its accurate as hell...

Very very nice looking & practical sounding air rifles! How only 100+ were made is beyond me. As I puff on a cigar and ponder further.....why has none of the ‘buy out’ Theoben guys (Martin RAW & Airforce now- right?) tried to bring these back?? Is there still a specific copy wright specifically blocking this? You’d think other companies would have jumped at producing their own Dual Mag version.
Not that I’m not enjoying trying to get my HW90 to shoot tight groups, but I’d love to see HW get the license to adapt the Dual Mag core to their HW97 frame:)......

Coveting is wrong:), but I have a deep appreciation of your rifles:):). Proves the old adage about not everything improves with time. Thanks for the pics!
