Theoben SLR 98 carbine - love the Hyedua stock!

Hey guys, just sharing some pics of the latest SLR 98, this is a pristine .177 carbine in one of the most nicely figured Hyedua stocks I've seen (in the US, at least!). The pics really don't capture the "holographic" effect; in the sunlight it looks amazing. Here's a short video I posted on youtube: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=k1ixbFM7mNs

And a couple pics taken indoors and outside. Shown alongside a TX200 HC JM FT Dominator for comparison, both very compact. I have a Bushnell Elite 3200 7-21×40 MD mounted on the 12fpe SLR, a good match I think.

"Matt247365"Those SLRs were tasty. Almost bought one back in the day. Should have :/
SLR = self loading rifle
Thanks for sharing, JohnnyP!
Matt
They were tasty when first released, but now they are absolutely delicious. lol

It's been said that the name refers to Steve Lilly, the designer of the SLR: Steve Lily Rifle

On old Theoben pamphlets/product spec sheets, I have also seen Super Low Recoil.

But yes, Self Loading Rifle it is!

"ChuckHunter"Man that is nice!!!!!
how is the trigger on that gas rammer ?
James from Michigan,
CH,

Thanks bud! Re: the trigger, not all Evolution trigger units were created equal. ? Some are very smooth, light and crisp: My Fenman has an amazing trigger, as did a .22 cal Evolution than Daren Morneau worked on. Also, the triggers on the older SLR 98s (Beeman marked, or with double line lettering) seemed to receive more TLC than later offerings. The trigger on my Dual Magnum (only test shot ) is also very, very nice!

This particular trigger can use some adjustment, truth is I have shot it very little. Usually after a couple dozen shots or a couple cups of coffee I can get them "pretty nice": lighter and more predictable.

James,

Man that is GREAT to hear, here's 2018 is the year you bring a CM/Eliminator home! They are awesomeguns to own for sure, but for pure shooting pleasure I prefer the easier to cock SLRs. ?

Sunday afternoon, first cup of coffee finished.

Grabbed the SLR 98 .177 carbine and emptied one magazine. Pleasure to cock and shoot. Held for a couple more minutes, noticed how the wood reveals a different character each time I take it out. Wiped down, and will probably hold for a couple more minutes later on this evening (and wipe it down again) 😉.
