the worst service

Let me start by saying I'm a easy going guy and life is to short to get all fuzzed up. That being said. A few months back I bought a SWFA 20x mil scope from SWFA for a 25-50 yard bench gun. Didn't mount it until the other day. Scope is foggy. Unusable. So called SWFA to see about a return or replacement. Talked to the girl. Return policy is 10 days, so I have exceeded that. Talked to the Tec about repair or replacement. He said that model is discontinued so no replacement. Said that model was sensitive to light and I could try adding multiple sunshades. I had tried that with no results. Asked him to help me out, and what could be done. Best they would do was to trade for a 6 or 10 power that they still had. I really have no use for a 6 or 10 power, but better then nothing I guess. The more I think about it the more it's not worth the return frieght cost. In my experience SWFA does NOT stand behind their product and the people I talked to acted like I was bothering them. I will NEVER do business with them again. This has been my experience. Just a heads up sylvan

Give Wendy Bagby a call at SWFA. She's the Customer Service Accounts Manager.

Wendy took care of a return for me on a used scope that I bought here on AGN. Long story short, I sent it back, and within a week, SWFA sent me a brand new 3-15X42 FFP scope... not a refurb. Great service! Here's her contact info:

Funny you posted this because I emailed them this morning about whether the warranty on a swfa is transferable and they said yes so you could just sell the scope and next guy return it I guess .

I'll make sure I never buy anything from you!

Thats a big 10-4 note to self never buy anything from anybody from Rhode Island👎Seriously I Don't think rwsmike would screw anyone like that.

You guys are like little kids....I always describe anything I'm selling in its condition . Obvious this scope would be sold as broken but like a craftsman tool just return it ......still laughing at you guys for saying you wouldn't buy from me.

Read what you wrote again.

What else are we supposed to take away from a statement like that? It's not like everyone on this forum knows you personally. lol

Oregun. Thanks for the info. Have not called Wendy yet, but will first of the week. Should have done my research on this scope, but looking around have found other posts noting problems with this model so not a new problem. Looked at their sight and they still have them for sale. Seems a little unethical to sell them with a known problem. Now I'm really not interested in trading for the same model, and Im sure not interested in adding $'s and trading for a more expensive model. Do not even feel like paying the cost to send it back to take a chance on a lesser model. Don't feel vary trusting. Will see what Wendy has to say, and report back. I'm not going to sell it knowing what I do now. So baring some outcome with SWFA it just goes in the dumpster. I've already replaced it with a new Leupold. Life is to short to get all fuzzed up. Just move on. Thanks all. Sylvan

I need to do this with my 20x. Its beyond bad in direct light. I set two guns up side by side. One with SWFA 20x fixed and the other with Athlon Argos 8-34. Its like having no vision and being able to see the stars. Wont be using SWFA in the future. Another scope into the crap bucket for garage sale. I have spent several thousand in last 2 yrs on glass and the Athlon is tough to beat. This is not about what everyone else has, I care what I have and this has been my first hand and wallet experience. Best of luck to all the SWFA users. Me not so much.
