Well, I talked to Sandra at RAW again this morning. After being told by her last week that my Euro Rail will be cut by the end of that week, she now tells me that it cannot be cut until the current batch of stocks is cut (after also being told that said batch was already finished being cut). So, I just told her to cancel my order for the Euro Rail and ship my rifle ASAP. She said that it will ship this Thursday. We'll see. Word to the wise: Take anything she tells you with a grain of salt.

You are really want to say " a word to the wise" when dealing with Sandra?
Any chance , you, didn't know what you wanted, changed the order a time or 2, kept her on the phone/email so she couldn't do here OTHER job ('s) at raw yet bends over back wards no mater how many times anyone calls, ... , ..... , ..... , .

Your not going to li9ke it with the RV ammo anyway, wait happy.

RAW has a lot of orders to fill. Sooner or latter the personal touch and customer service seems to suffer as business increases. I had problems with mine but AZ in Idaho made it shoot great. Raw still builds a solid gun but it seems they are having trouble keeping up with demand and customer service is suffering. Seems a few more people are having accuracy problems also but so are almost all other brands.RAW is at least using quality parts in their guns and most problems can be fixed. It appears they are having tro uble communicating work progress. In the end I can say I really like my RAW. I have a Mrod
FX500,FX Boss but the RAW is my favorite. .

Well, I've been hearing a lot of talk about how RAW's QC will suffer if Martin expands. But if he DOESN'T expand, QC will continue to decline. Either that, or he will have to just stop accepting new orders. And that will signal the beginning of the end for RAW.

Having said all that, I am still confident that my rifle will be awesome.

Here is an e-mail I just got from Martin at RAW:

Marco

I wanted to write to inform you why we have not been able to machine your stock, it was expected we would machine your rail last week, unfortunately when the machine was started to resume cutting when our employee returned from his vacation, the spindle motor had seized and it has taken 4 days of myself and my head machinist to strip and rebuild the head, new bearing housings needed to be made as the bearing lock up was quit catastrophic, these repairs are not something we can plan ahead, and much time gets lost in these unforeseeable circumstances, we only resumed cutting this afternoon, now we have to complete the stocks that were in the process before moving to the next operation, which was the rails, I understand from Sandra that this was not something you was prepared to wait any longer for, so I apologize for this and thought I should make clearer the full circumstances.

Regards
Martin

Class act, that.

"mtngerry59"11 weeks for a custom built anything still sounds pretty good to me!!! ...???
I keep hearing that. That's not the point. I'll try one more time, then I officially give up. It's not the wait per se. It's about promises not being kept. I really wouldn't care if it took a year if that was disclosed up front. But don't promise eight weeks then tack on a couple more weeks at the end of that period and then not even live up to that! And that's just the tip of the iceberg if you've been following my posts.

That is not to say that I can't separate-out the good aspects from the bad; I can. Aside from the issues I've addressed in the above paragraph, Martin and Sandra have been great in addressing inquiries in a timely manner, and I still have complete confidence that I will be tickled pink with the performance, fit & finish of my RAW when I eventually do receive her.

I've had to wait for things and that is frustrating. But the really frustrating part is you often know your waiting because,
Some lazy employee didn't turn up.
We've run out of some component
No communication no explanation
The list goes on! You get a sense your getting the run around!
The more I here about RAW the more I like the company and the company is Martin.
He is obviously oversees every aspect of these guns manufacture process and every aspect of the business.
My guess is Raw will alway be limited in its manufacturing ability by what Martin feels he can keep control of.
The thing I took away from your email is that Martin is repairing the machine!
RAW is likely to finish when he's had enough or sells the company to someone who cashes in on the outstanding reputation he has built.
I don't think you should try to hold these people to there promised date or make a fuss about it when the effort to deliver for you is obviously there.
I have read so many post about your new gun Marcus. You have half the world excited about it!
It will be worth the wait.

Yes, Martin told me that he personally, along with his head machinist, repaired the seized spindle motor of the milling machine. He said it took four days and involved a virtual complete rebuild, the damage was so extensive!

I suppose I should be more tolerant. I was so excited about my rifle being shipped when promised that when I was told it was not happening, I became dejected. Childish really. The thing that still bothers though me is that when Sandra told me that the rifle would not ship, she had to have known about the seized motor; yet she didn't mention it. Instead she offered some explanation that still doesn't make sense to me. Not only is it my contention that she knew of the real reason for the delay at the time of our conversation, she most likely knew of it for two or three days. Yet again, she did not give me a heads up. This is just further evidence that Martin needs to give Sandra an assistant!

But then again, maybe Martin keeps her in the dark. Every time I ask her a question, she has to put me on hold. Sometimes I hear her and Martin yelling at each other in the background!

At any rate, I am still extremely excited about receiving my new RAW! I am amazed at the response that has generated from my various posts about her. RAW does make a purdy rifle, that's for sure!

Maecella69,

I think you are kinda being a Drama Queen. My RAW .25 HM1000X LRT (RL) took 14 weeks. I just ordered [sandra was great] and she said 14 weeks,so I forgot about it. Never called for updates and frankly did not really care when it showed up. I knew they are always busy, so just let them finish when they finish. One day it showed up and when I opened the box my 52 ft. pound .25 sent chills down my spine, what beauty. The fit and finish was exceptional. Accuracy was also exceptional, and this opinion comes from an AirWolf owner. I would have no problem ordering another RAW, because the product and people are 2nd to none.

"Glem.Chally"I was going to buy one, but as don't want the wait I decided to get a Royale 500. Down the road I'm sure I will own one.

The AGN platform is glitching for some reason, so I'll have to respond using the quote box.

The Royale 500, fine rifle that :)
