the URAGAN Compact .177 (Full Review)

Hey guys, The Airgun Technology URAGAN is probably the most exciting air gun to come out in 2019. I already reviewed the .30 URAGAN and it was a tack driver. I knew the Compact .177 would be amazing and I was not disappointed! This PCP bullpup gets 130 regulated shots per fill and was sending pellets down range at 1020 feet per second! Did I mention it hits bulls eyes at 50 yards? (These guns have CZ barrels.) Not only are these URAGAN's accurate, they get the highest number of shots of any airguns that I know of. Even if your not in the market for a PCP rifle at the moment, check out the URAGAN. It's definitely a game changer. Thanks for watching! -Nate

When a manufacturer claims a gun shoots 800 fps, then it sends a pellet down range at 1000+ FPS, that's news! Usually a manufacturer will say a gun is shooting 1000 FPS and its really shooting 800 FPS. I think that the fact it sends a 5.4gr pellet at 1000 FPS speaks to the power this gun has on tap. Especially when people are expecting an under powered gun..as most tiny bullpups are. Sorry if it was misleading, I wasn't trying to be sneaky. It did do good with slower pellets.

The Kral Puncher Mega Marine I just filmed yesterday. It shot 8 different JSB (and Crosman) pellets perfectly at 35 and 50 yards. What a surprise that was! It shot 7 of the 8 different pellets the same.... "perfect". Awesome gun. It had a great shot string too.

Nice review. But it was a litle misleading telling it shoots pellets at 1020 fps, while the ones you actually used in the video shooting downrange and grouped well, had more normal pellet speeds between 800, and 900 fps. But it seems like a nice gun.

It did indeed shoot pellets at 1020 fps. Did you think it shot all pellets at any weight at this speed? It’s only misleading if you are totally clueless concerning ballistics.

👌

The OP clearly states the weight of the various pellets used. I detected no intent to deceive.

I'm not overly impressed with the Uragan's accuracy as depicted in the review, however.

He was using a Crown Saver pull through … you can buy them at Mac 1 Airguns … usually about $9.00 each. I always buy the longest one available so I can use it on all my guns. They usually last a long time even if you shoot a lot. I've had other pull throughs that weren't worth the time it took to unwrap the package. The solvent he used was Ballistol … works great for everything airgun related, wont rot your O-rings.

Ya know that Uragan sure looks a lot like the Vulcan 2 except for the air reservoir. Methinks that the somewhat poor accuracy might very well be because it gun was right out of the box and the regulator hadn't had time to settle in. I'm betting that it will most likely be as accurate as the Vulcan once it is broken in … which is to say … like a laser.

Nice review Nate. This is the first review of yours I’ve watched in about a year. Awesome improvement from then. The shot string on that gun was incredible. AT makes the best regs in the business. Yep, better than Huma. I had a .30 Vulcan2 pup, and shot a 20 shot string with an ES of 2 FPS. Can’t get any better than that! Keep up the good reviews, you just keep getting better!

Mike

PS., I didn’t see any poor accuracy. Those 10.3 at 50 yards were inside a dime. Better than that in the breeze with a .177? I don’t think so...

The review and video was nice and, nothing wrong it that . I just commented on what you wrote in this thread about the video. In one sentence you mentioned it shoots pellets downrange 1020 fps, and get 130 regulated shots. And then in next sentence you say it shoot bullseye at 50 yards. I think most would believe it means you are saying it shoot bullseye at 50 yards at that speed. At least I did, and that made me curious to see the video, and check if that was the case. But like I said, nice video, and all clear up the misunderstanding when looking at the video. It was funny you actually kept the part where you almost dropped it of the table. Made me laugh a litle:)

Thank you, I’m wanting to replace my worn pull throughs. I use ballistol since I first got into Airguns, it’s fantastic.

You're a lucky man Cranky, I can't figure out what in the world you would have to cranky about with that beautiful wife and gun though?

Peace and Rang a Tang grease

Lol I’m a construction worker that’s why I’m cranky. 😂 PS I’m the pretty one! Jk

Haha, I've been retired two years now. My nick name at work was "psycho"! I feel your pain. Accuracy points to the Mrs.'s

What pull through cleaner are you using?

That's a JL Crown Saver from Mac1 Airguns.

AT makes the best regs in the business

Good to know!!!

Hope I can hold myself back from getting one till next year.

Why wait? You may have to give up another gun first though!

P.S. Thanks for the green points! When I saw that the other day I was like 'WTF?" ....but I appreciate it! -Nate
