The things we do for love, it’s cold out there!

So, this topic has come up lately and I saw the temp this morning:

Yikes! So what do I do, I made me some hot coffee and took out the HW97. 5 shots JSB 10.34s @ 25. The gun was zeroed there well over a week ago. I know that group is not tighter because of my numb hands on that cold metal, and shaking up a bit.
The Chrono decided not to work, was probably too cold for it, not sure.

I cracked the back door and peeled off a round with the P-17 in your honor. Brrrrr, now back to my coffee and blankie.

LMAO! Jimmy, you don’t shoot when it’s hot, you don’t shoot when it’s cold! When exactly do you shoot??? Keep seeing you on the Springer section, you need to just come clean and say it, you want Springers in your life again. Trust me, you will feel much better once you admit it. 😂

23F pretty darn cold for Jaw-ja. It was about the same here when I shot my 97 this AM but I was shooting from a warm bedroom window. Biggest problem I have is the warm air escaping creates a “cold mirage” that makes 50yd targets jump around a bit. Still in all, things were going OK until it started to snow. That ended the session for today. Uj

I can't help it if your springer post shows up in the "All Topics" heading which is what I go to first? I wouldn't mind having another HW30 or R7 , but doubt it will happen ;-) If I run into some money and can afford to build an indoor range I might consider it? Would be nice to have a 50 yd indoor range with a new house built around it?

I feel for ya Christian. Drinking hot coffee and plinking, good onya. Yesterday it was 39 degrees (that’s just over 102 Fahrenheit) thought I would do the conversion for you. We are currently gripped in bush fires throughout Queensland, 75 fires at the moment. Looks like we’ll have temps in ithe high 30’s and gusty winds for the next seven days.

Air conditioning and cold beers are on my agenda for the next week 😋😋.

Sounds like what we've been enduring in California. About three weeks ago we had a sustained wind of 30-40 mph with gusts 70-80 mph. It was 68 deg with relative humidity of 5%. Yes !! 5% humidity!!

Wayne It’s not enjoyable to go out side for a plink. Many moons ago the Beach Boys were singing the praises of the California girls and the tourism adds were saying “ Queensland, perfect one day, beautiful the next” Cast an eye around where I live now and what you see is brown, black and dusty.

Oh well there’s always another beer .........Cisk

LOL ! So true !

My Hw77 is spot on the next time I shoot it. That could be one day or a week. However after about ten shots the poi does shift slightly and requires up, down or sideways correction on the scope, but it’s only a couple of clicks. I figure it’s something to do with the scope(Airmax4*12*40).

My Hw30 shoots slightly higher in the morning until a few shots are fired before poi equals poa.(Airmax3*9*40)

My Trail is usually a half an inch off at 30 metres no matter when I shoot it. But once zeroed it’s on the money. (Cheap Niko Stirling on a ZR mount)

My Lgv on the other hand is accurate at all times of the day, week or month. (Airmax4*12*40 on a ZR mount).

They all have their little idiosyncrasies, they sometimes make me go a bit crazy but they are consistent at what they do. I have taken two of them apart and tinkered but they still remain true to their form. I figure it’s got to be the scopes but now knowing how each perform when first shot makes me feel more comfortable when lining up that pest.

Seems like some more investigation is required on that HW97 of yours Christian before you will be comfortable with it I guess.
