The Tale of the Wererabbit

I had heard the stories but had always thought that they were urban legend. That was until now. They are usually very docile. I knew something was amiss when I found they had escaped their pen.

They didn't go far. I found them hiding in fear under the vanity. All accounted for except one...

With caution and some trepidation I went looking for the one that I feared had gone bad. I tracked him to the basement bath. He must have soaked himself quite thoroughly in the sink judging by the mess he left. I followed the water drops.... There he was the fabled and dreaded "WERERABBIT"

Wererabbits are dangerous creatures so I grabbed my BSA R10 .22 which I had luckily just cranked up the power on. I took aim from across the room and put an 18.13 JSB at 892 fps right thru his 2 1/2" thick head. He shrugged it off. I loaded a Barracuda Hunter Extreme and shot him again. He felt it but still had defiance in his beady red eyes. NSA! 17.5 gain hollow point at 890 fps right between the eyes. They all passed thru. He turned and gave me another shot with the NSA slugs. This time a full length body shot of 6 1/2 inches. The slug did not exit but passed almost all the way thru.

He was finally done for. I managed to collect the spent pellets and slugs. All for fun, and I was impressed with the expansion of the hollow points. Barracuda - left NSA's - center. JSB - right

Still working on tuning for accuracy but initial results are good.

NSA 17.5 grain .2165 @ 53 yards. Flyer on second pic was all me.

Now I'm going to have to watch The Holy Grail again (something like the 5th time).

I used a gallon ziplock filled with rubber mulch to catch the projectiles that passed thru.

It did not appear that the mulch caused any expansion of the slugs or the Barracuda pellet. In fact the first slug stopped just inside the bag. The 18 gain JSB pellet passed thru with enough retained energy to deform the pellet.
