The Priest - PCP similar to Impact fom Slovenia

The Aluminum bottles have 5/8-18 UNF threads. If put on a carbon bottle you need metric M18-1.5 threads. The 5/8 regulators have are much cheaper and easier to find. The Priest uses 5/8 because of the Aluminous bottle. For $140 you can get a 350cc carbon bottle and a free regulator with it from china on ebay. First thing I would do with the Priest is get rid of the ugly bottle and replace it with a cf.

I've was trying to find a Priest .25 to do that but settled for a different gun. The whole process costed less than $200 us dollars.

By the default air regulator is set to 125 bar=1800 PSI and power is 30 Joule = 22 FPE at caliber .177. Some extra heavy pellets/bullets need a little bit more 40J=30FPE.
Also barrel fixing/assembling is not clear for me.

Therefore I have next questions :

  1. Is it possible to order/buy .177/150 bar version ?
  2. For higher pressure cca 5mm spring preloading via some additional hammer extension should be enough ?
  3. Which are the threads direct at barrel and at the baffle extension ?
  4. Is the barrel tensioned via barrel extension nut ?

All experiences with power tuning/adjusting and barrel fixing/assembling are welcome.

Hi.

Here are my inputs on your question.
1. You can get 150 bar version in .177, it just depends on the dealer weather he has it in stock / it they are willing to assemble it.
2. The only difference is the regulator (or whole bottle) and different hammer spring. The hammer weight and spring tensions are calibrated to get the most of the pressure you are working with (minimum consumption - no hammer bounce, maximum power).
3. I assume you are talking about the threads on the muzzle of the barrel. I think they are M12 but I am not 100% sure...
4. Again, I am not 100% sure if I understand the questions... The barrel nut at the end holds the barrel in the centre of the shroud. The nut has an o-ring that pushes up against the shroud.

Thanks for excellent answers.
I am planning to buy RTI Priest from rojal.si. I hope that If I will write some notice direct to order ( caliber .177 with air pressure set to 150 bar ) they do not send me 125 bar version. I want to use it mainly for JSB Monster and Beast REDESIGNED. .177 Monsters REDESIGNED I already tested from choked 606x15mm 1:17,7 barrel and was more accurate at 970 FPS but only 2-2,5MOA at 70m . JSB Heavy are shooting 1-1,5 MOA at 70m at 950-960 m/s. I hope that CZ barrel will be able to shoot them better.

Notice. Also .177 Beast REDESIGNED have to be available soon.

Longitudinal tension of barrel may increase barrel stiffness and improve of barrel harmonics. This is the way how to increase accuracy. Can I tensioning barrel when I add some chafing block between barrel baffles addition and M12/M14 fitting.

Also some additional screws fixing barrel more stiffen into the breach will be necessary to add probably too.

Details info/photos from all barrel and shroud threads can help.

.................
I have found out that nut is crewed on to the shroud not on the barrel baffles additional M12 thread.

In terms of barrel tension there really isn't any on the midsection of the barrel. The breech end is set in the receiver and the muzzle end is supported within the tube. I wouldn't concern yourself with rigidity too much. She's plenty accurate. I can regularly get sub 2 inch 5 shot groups at 100 yards. Best for me is right at 1.3 inches for me and I don't use big bags or anything. The threads were M14x1 originally and newer models have 1/2x20. If the regulator isn't where you want it it is easily tweaked. Try 0.1mm shims til you get the reg pressure you want. I run 135Bar for my .25 and get 845fps from jsb 34 grains. Barracuda gives me about 865 and 25 grain jsb yield 930.

Been using it for a year now and still going strong. Waiting for pellet technology to get better. I believe we are at a plateau in terms of optimized power/accuracy right now. Priest is as good as I have seen anyone else reviewing far more expensive guns. Also some cheaper guns can hang. You won't be upset once you do buy it.

My friend Maurice is currently taking another batch of orders if you want one or a few. He was recommended by Gregor to put it on his website. Beside, Maurice is the only supplier in the USA to sell this. Mention Andrew sent ya in your Paypal notes. I don't get anything in return. Just helping those that wants a Priest. I'm tempted to buy one myself. The only thing stopping me is the regulator and not being able to adjust it easier.

*Mods, I hope this link is ok to post*
