PA has details of the new regulated Marauder model coming out later this year on their site now.

I have to say it is looking like it might be once awesome upgrade and amazing value.

Not only have they added a regulator, it apparently has an upgraded barrel which was the main issue people had with the old (current) 22 cal version. I wonder if the upgraded barrel is a Green Mountain like on the 25.

And... It actually has a feature that you can't find even on more expensive guns yet. It says you can turn the reg on and off so you get to choose between more power or more shots (and consistency), depending on what you are doing. That's a really great idea imo.

It says 50 shots per fill in 22 which is nice for that size of reservoir.

Most impressive of all is the price. They didn't make it more expensive than buying the old Marauder plus an aftermarket reg.

Good on Crossman for bringing out a new model that genuinely moves the needle. I could easily set the new standard for what people should expect from a PCP rifle in that price range.

"Dairyboy"Yeah I think there going to be great! The barrels are from what I heard the same kind as on the maximus and I've had a few maximus in hand and they shoot extremely well
It will be interesting to see what people think compared to the old 22 barrels. Either way it would still be a great deal as the Marmot Militia drop in barrel replacement is an easy upgrade for people wanting a premium barrel.

It kinda makes your mouth water when you see the future starting price of an efficient regulated PCP rifle with a premium barrel.

"EvoShift"
"intenseaty22"Steve from AEAC said he spoke to them and they said the project is not "dead" but the answer they gave was pretty vague.

Dude, it's dead, and was on arrival.
An old marauder with a regulator slapped on it for $630,
can't compete with a $299 regulated Gauntlet, let along the higher end options.
How do you think slapping on that aftermarket regulator affects the factory warranty?

The Marauder is probably one of the best selling PCPs out there and has been for years. What makes you think Crosman wouldn't sell a significant number of the F&T Edition? Just because you don't want one or would only buy a bullpup version doesn't mean it wouldn't sell in numbers to justify its production. Only Crosman knows why its release has been delayed, there's been no official word only someone posting their email exchange with a Crosman CS rep.

With the new competition, Crossman has to determine cost analysis, manufacturing, shipping and more in their business model.
They may be exploring over-seas manufacturing of some parts, e.g. regulator, to bring down costs and put out a more price competitive product.
Then again, in our current political climate, they could be doing a wait and see stance if there are tariffs on imports, making the Made in the USA products less expensive.

I also wonder of all the mods running around out there, how many of them could they incorporate into a new model? Did Travis over at WAR ever patent his SSG or TSS? The MDS hammer?
For all we know, their R&D department could be running in overdrive to put out something all new and exciting. I am pretty sure they have people monitoring forums like this one for marketing.
Of course, then it comes down to cost to manufacture.

To be honest, currently owning an incredibly accurate Gen 2 Marauder in .22, the only difference seems to be the regulator. Don't get me wrong, I want a regulated version of the gun, but that seems to be the only difference.

The Gen 2 barrels were accurate from Day 1. Gen 1 barrels had problems but the Gen 2's were good to go. I can put together 75 yard groups with no problem.

I think the most interesting thing is the settings on the gun. Where many tune for higher energy, Crosman went solely for accuracy. 820 FPS with virtually no wasted air probably took a considerable amount of testing to achieve. Considering that I am currently in the middle of tuning my gun, I think I'll follow their lead and try the 820fps mark and see how it goes.

The regulator also seems to be set for 1400 PSI or so. That's another interesting point and probably one of the efficiency measures. If it's only set to 1400 PSI, gives 820 fps, and 60 to 70 solid shots per fill, it's a killer combo.

Now, the question is, can I replicate that on my gun that's not regulated?

Unless I add a regulator, probably not. If I add a regulator, I might get close. maybe I'll spring for a regulator and try it out at 1400 PSI. After all, the Maximus only has a 2000 PSI fill and can generate the 830 fps mark down to 1000 PSI as I understand it.

The option of a LW barrel is also interesting. If the gun is strictly from the custom shop, as we've heard on other places, some people may want that instead of the standard Gen 2 barrel.

This requires some thinking.

Gen2 .22s definitely had problems. I have a barrel in my safe from mine 2 years ago that was absolutely junk. However I recently picked up a .22 refurb and that barrel is incredibly accurate. I need to look at them and compare them but they have changed something with the barrels that's no secret. They admitted it themselves.

As far as the shot count there getting on the gun...it's honestly not that great at the weak 21fpe. If one did it themselves you should be able to get many more shots than it did. It's a good start but plenty of room to improve. We're getting 40 shots at 40fpe from less air out of the .25 Mrods. Some are getting even more with these new valves that are coming out. In .22 I know a guy who has gotten 100+ shots out of his .22 at I believe similar power.

Dairyboy - please publish the settings where the shot counts and energy are so high! I'm looking to tune now, and any information would be appreciated. Best I've been able to do is abouy 21 FPE and 40 shots per fill up to 3000 PSI. If I can do 100 plus (I'd settle for 50 to be honest) it would make my shooting experience that much better!

Mine is better than 3 years old, was new at the time and a Gen 2. Barrel is good, so if there was a bad barrel between mine and your refurb, it would be interesting to see what changed.

Yeah I'm definitely going to look into the barrels. I mean this refurb is a laser! 5 shots at 52 yds straight from the box at .62" ctc with first 3 shots at .17" CTC. Need to get it tuned and clean up the barrel but I think it's going to be a real winner. My other one couldn't even shoot that tight at 10yds lol.

Here's the post I found about the .22 regulated Mrod. I don't want to reg mine but with these results idk if I'll be able to not reg it
