“The Last Meal” Squirrel/Bird/Rat Feeder V1.0

Hi AGN forum members, I present to you “The Last Meal” version 1.0. I came up with this crazy idea the other day while looking for a squirrel feeder. I thought, what if I could buy a squirrel/bird/rat feeder that once I put it up, I wouldn’t have to worry about my pellet/slugs going through and penetrating my neighbors fence. Well ladies and gentleman here is my first prototype. Any suggestions as to make V2.0 any better I am all ears. I will be posting videos in the following days. Once I have a product that I feel maybe worthy, I will start posting it in the member classified section. Thank you!

My suggestion is use 1-2 inch wood backing especially if you are within 30 yards. First it would be more natural and second steel will produce ricochet which could come back at you plus it’s loud. I use cheap rough 4x4 which has zero chance of ricochet, pellet will simply imbed into the wood. If I had a big property I would just use stumps and logs laying around.

squirrels are pretty smart and notice things that are out of norm, might take them a long time to get onto that table. More natural the better.

The steel in this prototype is behind rubber and wood. The steel is more or less used as a last ditch effort to prevent the pellet/slug from going all the way through. With the my current setup ricochet shouldn't be a problem unless it hits the very top above the feeder at slower speeds. However thats why I added a little space for you to put sticker targets to help hone in on your accuracy before putting it out.

I'm not sure where your from qball but in Central Florida the squirrels don't care what it looks like. If they spot food, its over. But, you bring up a good point and in my V2 model that I'm currently working on, the sides will be camouflaged. Thanks for the input.

ah! Good to have dumb squirrels. Here in California they are rather skittish, well I did serve the dumb ones free lead so the rest are extremely cautious. Maybe cover it with fake grass like the edgunleshiy guy?

As you can see my neighbors fence is right against the feeding tree. All of my trees are against the fence line so I don't really have a choice on where they can go. Squirrels are the most comfortable when they are in a tree so its out of the question to put it on the ground. Here are some more pictures of the setup. I will take out the seeds from the last feeder to the far left. Rats used to show up at night but haven't in a few weeks now. I either took them all out or they have adapted.
