The Kalibrgun Cricket .25, still my favorite PCP and here's why.

I got to go shooting with an airgunner friend yesterday for a bit. Shot a few 100 yard groups. Mostly checking out his gun / slug combo. Nothing special.

When I got home, I setup my shooting table to shoot a slug (still in the bore) at a Ground Squirrel at 276 yards on top of the wood piles. Ended up shooting 4 slugs out there. 2 were direct hits.

That's a 50% hit ratio at 275+ yards. That's in a zero wind condition. As I walked back from the wood pile I noticed the wind was still nothing.

So I sat down and shot 2 slugs at a the 275 yard target I have out there. I was going for a 50% hit ratio. I think my gun / slug combo pulled it off, 1.25" Notice the 2 holes I circled from a different day I shot 2 at it in a light wind.

We joked about shooting GS's off the wood pile. Now after eliminating 13 GS pests from the 265- 276 yard mark, it doesn't seem to be a joke anymore.

All I can do is shake my head in amazement by the precision these PCP's are capable of in a no wind condition with the right gun/slug combo.

Mine just happens to be a Hot Rod Cricket .25 Custom build that's performance just continues to surprise me almost daily. I like it's finished look too.

That's why the Kalibrgun Cricket is my favorite PCP.

Great shooting, great gun, super awesome mods to your 9mm converting to .25 caliber. However, let’s face it. Your “Kalibrgun Cricket” is no more a Cricket than Dale Earnhardt Jr’s Chevy is an actual Camaro.

Dont get me wrong, that was a great idea to convert the gun, but it’s nothing like the .25 Cricket than 99.9% of us have. You could have said your very highly modified Cricket is still your favorite gun... ;)

Good point.

I did say that to a degree. - " Mine just happens to be a Hot Rod Cricket .25 Custom build" I thought that would cover it.

intenseaty22 - That is a 9mm / .35 cal. stock as you thought.

I posted about modifying a Cricket .35 cal. to a .25 cal. here on AGN several months ago. Describes the gun and slugs I make.

I don't see a handing way to reference it though. The title is - My slug gun build – .35 cal. converted to .25 cal. with an index-able barrel.

It's funny you say that "Favorite Pcp", It should be mine as well. Mine has been power tuned and all the ports were ported and polished and it shoots amazing as well. It shoots so amazing that I don't shoot it because its boring @ times. They are really good shooters. I've had mine for awhile now and its dead on every time I shoot it. Gotta love those Crickets!! By the way great shooting!!

I posted this showing my Modified Crickets ability when there's no wind at stupid long ranges.

Wiseguy "I've been amazed many, many times at the accuracy of that gun." Me too!

AirNGasman -  "My .25 Cricket often dominates with 33.95 JSBs."  That's awesome. I gave up on pellets though.

Jammin22 - "I don't shoot it because its boring @ times" .

That's how my stock 52 FPE Cricket is. It's such a consistent sub-MOA shooter (with a slug), that I have called it "boringly accurate". Reality is that I'm so happy with it that I don't "need" to shoot it. Over 21,000 (pellets) rounds through it. Still shoots a 30.5gr. slug @ 870-871 FPS. That's right 1 foot extreme spread. This one should be my favorite.

I also have a 30 cal. Modified Cricket (that I did not build) that shoots pellets very very well out to 100+ yards. But, 30 cal. pellets just aren't my thing.

3 Crickets that are all different but still my favorites. One just shines quite a bit more at long range for consistency than the others.

I could buy any airgun I want. No need I got Crickets.................
