The inaugural Ranchito Robinson Airgun Bench-Rest Silhouette match outside Waco attracted long-range airgunners from across Texas. Five shooters contested the 80 Foot-Pound (maximum) class, and four contested the 35 FP class.
Overall Match Winner was Derrick Wall from the Houston area. His excellent score of 34/40 in
hideous wind conditions was 4 points better than Second Place, Bill Miller of the D/FW metroplex. Derrick also knocked down all ten of his chickens, and Bill shot ten-in-a-row pigs.
Contrary to
someone's prediction, the Match Director/host finished LAST PLACE in the 80 FP class after breaking a shot on an empty chamber...
TWICE! Dry-fires do count on the score-card; you might imagine how.
The 35 FP (maximum) Class was hotly contested, with only one point separating each placing of the 4 shooters. The 35 FP Class Winner was (aforementioned) Bill Miller with a fine 25/40 score. Bill also got ten-in-a-row chickens in that fine effort.
Framed certificates were awarded for Match Winner and 35 Foot-Pound Class Winner, as well as hat pin awards for Match Winner and Ten(s)-In-A-Row.
After the match, every widely-traveled,
hungry competitor stayed for three varieties of grilled Bratwurst sausages, aka- BratFest.
Match Director Ron Robinson would like to thank the airgunners that traveled across Texas to attend the inaugural Ranchito Robinson BRS match. I hope you all enjoyed the competition as much as I did.
