The future of pellets - some questions

https://investingnews.com/daily/resource-investing/base-metals-investing/lead-investing/lead-producing-countries/

I've shot some slugs in my PCPs. Anywhere that it is actually safe for me to shoot slugs in my .25 Condor it is safer for me to shoot my .22 K-Hornet. Now then that does not mean that I can get away with the noise, 'cause I can't but that .40 grain Sierra boatail spire point bullet steaming along at almost 3 grand just turns to dust when it hits the ground or a leaf for that matter. They are doing about 165,000 RPM at that point after all. All they have to do is hit a piece of paper to come apart.. That slug in my .25 now trundling along subsonic will bounce a LONG ways if it hits a flat rock or hard patch of dirt. That's worth thinking about.

I do not have a problem with anyone shooting slugs in their AGs. I think if that is your cup of tea, drink up, safely. It's not for me but I don't live in West Texas anymore so pellets are the safest choice for me, in this location. Put me out in El Paso or Kansas or anywhere flat and open and I'm likely going to switch to slugs.

I don't think the price of slugs is going to endear them to Billybob in the back yard ... You aren't going to see them in Walmart anytime soon ... and if you do ... they won't be a big seller in that market.

Pellets are going to get better. They are going to be more accurate next year than they were this year just like they have become more accurate this year than they were a few years ago. We are beginning to understand the tolerances pellets have to hit to be truly accurate. Premium pellets will cost more but they will get better. There is a market for a pellet which will shoot half inch groups at 50 yards and for a spring rifle that will do the same. People buy those TX200s and high end HWs every day. They need a pellet that those rifles can shoot ...

We will be seeing those next year UNLESS the world continues down the rat hole it is now tunneling into. Cheap lead is going to get more expensive... delays are going to get longer... and that's just the path we are on, sadly. But that's politics and not BB guns. We should leave that dog sleep on the floor. That way we all can learn to respect each other here and we can carry that out to the world and perhaps make things better out there. Because there are a lot of people out there who don't want us to respect each other anywhere. Just my two, but from the heart.

hope pellets get better

with a little sorting or god forbid ROLLING we get some nice pellets for benchrest or field target for those

who try to excel without having great equipment

any small improvement would be welcome
