The farmer asked me to clear an old Silo!

"Monkyshine"Bob_O tell me how you are holding cross hair on bird with such angle shots. Did you rezero for those 40° angle shots? Always curious to different methods.
No, I didn't rezero. Two reasons they hit POA despite the very steep incline angle. Pellet speed and distance.

Velocity was only about 700 fps on Mid power.
And target distance was a little less than zero distance.

Had I been on High power at 30 to 35 yards (angle being the same) the pellet would have gone higher than POA for sure.

The Starlings were shot at about half the height the pigeons we're at. You can see how I was aiming high due to the closer target being the pellet were hitting low at the closer distance.

Then outside with the pigeon at 60 yards. No holdover, the shot still hit POA on high power due to the incline angle.

It's a bit tricky for me still but I have a better understanding of it now than when I first started shooting at elevated targets.

Bob-O Loved the vid only wish that was me instead of you (lol) As you probably know, but I have to mention this- pigeon droppings carry a variety of disease's one is (histoplasmosis) this a fungal disease from breathing dust of the droppings. Please lookup the symptoms. so you are aware While working at the dam this was a major problem, we had to pressure wash the areas down before we could work in them. The same goes for mice droppings. Myself- I would drive twice that distance to shoot.Excellent shooting-will be looking for the next vid. Darell

"markT"Yes sir.. your videos are clear evidence you got it figured out for sure.. I know u can out shoot me .. was just thinking since Ted has the " holdover" nailed down... Again sir, fantastic shooting!!!
Oh gosh, I don't know if I can out shoot you...I'm just having fun and I like to share my experiences and my limited knowledge.
And just when I think I have a stuff figured out, something has me learning more!

I like it when I can make a long shot on a pigeon, like 65 yards for me is a long shot. I'm ecstatic when I can nail a sparrow or starling at 50 yards.

My sweet spot for small birds is 35ish yards. 50 yards for pigeons is really nice. Still working on longer shots.

Making the proper holds for wind and elevation is very rewarding for sure!!
