The Evol 30 cal is coming along

Just wanted to show what my Evol .30 is capable of these days. I've been practicing for RMAC 😡

Yes this is 100 yards, yes this is a cherry-picked group. But the rest of the groups look really good too. This card would have been somewhere between 220 and 222.

I guess I just wanted to give props to AAA and the Evol .30 since I haven't seen much about them in the forums. Mine is shooting great. It has the magic DWall tune. Watch out for Team Centercut at all the big matches this year.

This gun is different. I almost sold it a couple of times. But it was me breaking up the relationship. I knew it was a great gun and there was just something about it. Finally I asked my bud to take a shot at cranking the tune for me. What I got back is a hammer.
this gun is built like a tank. A little heavy and very rigid. You probably don’t want to carry this one around. But for bench, I think this is its home

Again that is a really good group I selected from many. But this is a very good gun. The 22 will be lighter and smaller. Just what you want for a walking gun.

Nice! Details on FPS, FPE and ammo used? The only negative I recall are wait times on getting one and I'm not sure if things have changed. How is customer service these days with AAA?

Well I guess I could have done a little better writeup about this gun. I didn't realize there was no news about it.

I bought this gun last year at EBR at the urging of Robert B and Claudio. Unfortunately, instead of shooting what I knew was good, I opted to shoot the new gun. (Hurray a new toy!!) That was a mistake for me. My friends warned me to "dance with the girl that brung ya" but I didn't listen. The Evol needed some time for me to settle into the gun to get it into BR shape. So needless to say I didn't do very well. It wasn't the gun's fault.

My teammate DWALL took it home after EBR and hit it with a magic wrench. That was just what it needed. The first day out to the practice range, I knew there was something different about this gun. The barrel is VERY stiff. I see very little barrel flip. If there is any at all. The gun just feels solid.

I find the ergonomics of this gun just right for me. Stock length is adjustable and has a nice adjustable cheek piece and butt-pad.

I'm shooting the 44 gr pellets (JSB) around 880. That works out close to 80 fpe. It will shoot them faster. A lot faster if you want to crank it up. If I remember correctly, Tom has a slug barrel or has one coming, for this one too. We shot one at EBR 18 (Slayer with slug barrel I think) and I was hooked. When I had the chance to get my hands on one, I grabbed it.

As far as service is concerned, I don't know. I did order a new rail for the bipod and it took a few weeks to get it. But this was a new part. So there was probably some manufacturing time in there.

Tom is a good guy and this gun shows his desire to make a really good gun. I like the look and the trigger is one of the better triggers I have. And there is just something about the feel of it being rock solid on the table. The only thing about this gun that I don't like, was the check I had to write to get it :)

All said, I think this gun in the right hands, is a 100-yard winner. I'm hoping those hands are mine :)
