The Eagle Has Landed - Custom Shop Leupold VX-Freedom 3-9x33mm

I'm-ma liking want I'm seeing and hearing Matt. Might be worth investing in some quick disconnect scope mounts so this little jewel can multi-task on perhaps a couple other platforms when needed. I wish I was able to afford such a scope and invest in several to cover all my needs. I hate having different scopes/reticles/magifications etc, etc. on all the different rifles I have.

Cheers

Hello everyone.

I have a quick update on this Leupold 3-9 scope. Had it for about 2 months now.

I have to admit that I was a little skeptical about how far I could shoot accurately with "only" 9x mag.

My other scopes are mostly 4-12 power with one 4-14. But I have to tell you that my confidence in this

scope/gun set-up just keeps growing.

Here are my best 5-shots groups so far with the Taipan .22 short.

50 yards on the left _______________________ 75 yards on the right.

.25" ctc ______________________________________ .70" ctc

Front and rear bags on the kitchen table. No scope level.

18g JSB at 865 FPS. No sorting. Shot from the magazine.

Thanks for sharing this information on your scope. That is definitely some excellent shooting! The size and weight of the scope is very appealing to me as my current setup gets pretty heavy on long walks in the backwoods. I assume that the reticle is calibrated for true mil at 9 power. I am curious if you have you checked to see if the turrets dial accurately to be spot on when the magnification is set at 9x? Since it is a Leupold I would expect that it would perform well. Thanks again.

Thanks Ken

I have not verified that the turrets match the reticle. I just zeroed at 50 yards and memorized hold-overs and unders at various distances

using the mil-dots.
