The Dove Wars

Hooked up yesterday with a fellow Airgun Nation member for a day at the dairy.

Hawkeye69,

I’m living vicariously through your posts. I’m also a Mesa resident trying hard to outfit myself with a PCP to rain lead destruction upon our Eurasian dove infestation. So far my wife has not been cooperative, but I think I’ve got her worn down.

I’m highly considering the current Bantam or the new regulated version. Between your Bantam or Wildcat do you have a favorite or recommendation? What about a more traditional rifle like the Streamline for prowling the dairies?

Thanks

My Bantam and Wildcat both get around 70 good shots, and their handling and accuracy are about equal. For pesting I prefer the Wildcat because I can load pellets on the fly without removing the magazine plus I like the side lever action better. Both are nice guns but you can't go wrong with the Streamline either. It really comes down to personal preference.
If money is an issue (and it usually is) both the Bantam and Wildcat need a moderator to be backyard friendly which adds to the cost, while the Streamline has a shrouded barrel. AOA has the Streamline for $999 and for $100 you can get an 3-12 X 44 FX scope and mounts. It isn't a great scope but it would be adequate until you can afford to upgrade. So it seems to me that the Streamline might be your best buy.

I'll send you a PM.
