The Diana 430L

After a lot of debate and a bunch of reading,I took the chance on this greatly discounted rifle. I received it on the 7th and here are my thoughts,so far.

Fit and finish are Great! This 430 looks like a Much more pricey gun than I expected. Bluing and wood are just as nice as my 54. Very Happy.

Trigger is of course a T06. Excellent.

Cocking. Out of the box,It's a little crunchy and stiff, but not at all difficult...if that makes any sense. I have already disassembled and lubed it with decent products. It's now much better (smooth/decent feel) and I'm just gonna shoot it and let it get better

The firing behavior shocked me. As dry as it was,I expected a hearty "BONK!" ..ect. This is one of Very few air rifles I've purchased that fired with a nice THUD. No twangy nonsense with a quick little direct rearward push. Nice!!!

It's been lousy out after work so I haven't shot more than 70 shots. If this thing is as accurate as the reviews, ect. say, this thing is a Keeper!!

I used a 3mm set screw to allow for trigger position and a little shorter 1st stage.

I forgot to mention that when disassembled, the machining was Very good! Clean and essentially free of burrs. Nice Job Hahns!

This Diana 430L is one Hell of a deal! I thought the $149. Walther Terrus was good for the price. This just blows it out of the water!

If anyone is in the market for an inexpensive airgun, check this out. You'll most likely pay more at the big box stores! Don't fall for the 1600 fps B.S. and pick yourself up something Nice!

Stay tuned.

Mike

...it was a good deal when i got mine for $200....i thought it came with the scope , and the guys at ag's of az called me early that morning and mentioned no scope, no z-mount.....so the threw in the z-mount.... i wish i had have just spent the $279 to get the z-mount slider thing and that sturdy-looking 3-9x32ao that was standard issue with this gun...... i still havent had good time to mess with mine other than test firing it.... i got 2 tins of field target pellets (not field target trophies - the heavier ones)..... when i got mine in oct or nov , he said he had about 200 left..... problably gone by now - especially at $150....wow....wouldnt care about their shipping charges so much then , either !!.. - paul.

I had intended to get one a few weeks back and had loaded it into the AOA cart when I got distracted and forgot about it. Went back today and completed the order. Price was too good to pass up.

I believe you'll be shocked at how Nice of a rifle you've received for the price!

Mike

Nope- I already have a 460 so I'm familiar with the quality level of the brand. But it is hard to believe that they are selling for such a low price. Shipping was $34.

I admit that buying one is a temptation, but I have a 460 in .22 that has been detuned. It is a sweetheart to shoot. And .177 just isn't my caliber.

But still...the price is right...

It probably will be your caliber if you buy it and try it. I have .177 and .22 cal. in all of my air rifles. I must admit the only downside of the Diana's to me is the loading gate, its not like the HWs, nice and wide, easy to load from both sides.

NOOO - they're all gone!

I've been talking myself into this for a couple of weeks now. In addition to my break-barrels, I've got a TX200 and two HW97's, so I really have no need for one, but at about $180 shipped, it's just too good to pass up. I even put one in my cart yesterday and then got distracted. Just went back to AoA today to finally "pull the trigger" and....they are no more. That's right - they have sold 'em all. They had over 350 of them at one time, but the last one was sold yesterday and there are no more coming. 😪

All of you who bought one got a heck of a deal. I mean, it's a high quality, German-made airgun for well under $200 shipped - you can easily spend more at Walmart on a 1700 FPS Chinese rifle that can't hit a barn from 50 yards! I predict that these will start trading for at least what you paid for them, probably more.

Congrats to all who scored one! Except the guy who bought one yesterday afternoon - you suck because that was supposed to be mine!
