After a lot of debate and a bunch of reading,I took the chance on this greatly discounted rifle. I received it on the 7th and here are my thoughts,so far.
Fit and finish are Great! This 430 looks like a Much more pricey gun than I expected. Bluing and wood are just as nice as my 54. Very Happy.
Trigger is of course a T06. Excellent.
Cocking. Out of the box,It's a little crunchy and stiff, but not at all difficult...if that makes any sense. I have already disassembled and lubed it with decent products. It's now much better (smooth/decent feel) and I'm just gonna shoot it and let it get better
The firing behavior shocked me. As dry as it was,I expected a hearty "BONK!" ..ect. This is one of Very few air rifles I've purchased that fired with a nice THUD. No twangy nonsense with a quick little direct rearward push. Nice!!!
It's been lousy out after work so I haven't shot more than 70 shots. If this thing is as accurate as the reviews, ect. say, this thing is a Keeper!!
I used a 3mm set screw to allow for trigger position and a little shorter 1st stage.
I forgot to mention that when disassembled, the machining was Very good! Clean and essentially free of burrs. Nice Job Hahns!
This Diana 430L is one Hell of a deal! I thought the $149. Walther Terrus was good for the price. This just blows it out of the water!
If anyone is in the market for an inexpensive airgun, check this out. You'll most likely pay more at the big box stores! Don't fall for the 1600 fps B.S. and pick yourself up something Nice!
Stay tuned.
Mike
