The (DELTA)WOLF is now at my door!

Mark a quick ?.

In your pic showing the display , bottom reading " PRES 170 bar", is that the bottle reading?,

if so I am confused* , as every pic I can remember seeing of the display shows than figure as lower than the top " 174 bar reg " reading (in your pic.

*nothing new there.

Plenum pressure 174 bar= bad efficiency ...

Well my initial thought was boy that's a high reg pressure to be able to achieve that velocity, HOWEVER the DELTAWOLF gets the same shot count as my IMPACT which reads a lower reg pressure on the gauge, so if you look at it, it's actually MORE efficient!

LOL! we are locked down so I can't go to the range until the lockdown is relaxed next week sadly!

Can’t you just say you’re protesting something or rioting? Then it would be fine to defy the lockdown... ;) As everyone knows, Covid is a smart virus and doesn’t affect rioters and looters....

LOL! good point!

How many shots at what power?

I called AOA today to purchase a new Delta Wolf. The good news, I'm on the wait list, and if I save 20 dollars per day, it will be paid for in 150 days. The only bad news, I'm number 351 on the wait list!

Well that sucks...I was thinking with that price tag ,I would be able to swope in and snag a deltawolf from aoa. Guess I was wrong, plenty of other guys with money too..lol

I've always wondered how big the market is for these high end air rifles. I figured there couldn't be that many people stupid enough like me to justify paying $2k+ for a BB gun but apparently there are plenty of us that are not that bright. I also wonder how much the margin is on one of these guns; like how much does it actually cost to make the Delta Wolf (not counting R&D, marketing, exporting and other costs).

I got the major case of stupid, 4 Impacts and a Maverick in 8 months! Material and assembly costs of a Delta Wolf or Fx Impact? If it's anything like a high-end tournament paintball markers, 40% of MSRP.

Whoa, 4x Impacts and 1x Maverick since just after COVID hit? You got it bad! What are the specs on the Impacts? Are they all set up to shoot different calibers/speeds or why 4 different ones?

40% of MSRP on an Impact would be about $800. Add in the R&D, marketing and other markup to that cost and how much profit does a dealer make on each rifle? $500 each?

My first was a 30cal Mk2 with PP in 700mm, I have it topped with an Element Titan, set up for bench rest shooting JSB 44gr. @900fps. Second was a 30 cal Compact, topped with a Pard NV008P LRF also tuned for 44gr @900fps. Third is a 25 cal Mk2 with PP in 700mm, HV superior liner, slug kit, topped with an Element Nexus, tuned for 36gr Neilsens @ 930fps. Fourth is a 25cal Compact, topped with a Athlon Ares BTR, purchased from YOU, which was a great deal thank you, I have this tuned for Hybrids @ 925fps. Still tuning the 25cal Maverick Compact, across the chrono. Its more consistent than the Impact, less efficient, I will be shooting groups tomorrow for accuracy. 🙂

Spent the last 20 years working, playing and coaching tournament paintball, traveling monthly. Covid killed that activity and I fell victim of the Matt Dubber YouTube vids, the rest is history. Paintball is back, now I find myself lamenting my coaching responsibilities, now all I want is range and hunting time.

Same here, COVID wiped out our NXL season and I got hooked on air rifles. I also spent the last 20 or more years in paintball, what team did you coach? What leagues did you play ?

Totally agree. I think some guys get confused over reg pressure and useable pressure band compared to efficiency. Apples and Oranges. The bottom line is how much power per unit of air used. Normally measured in FPE/cu-in. What the reg pressure is set to has nothing to do with the gun’s efficiency.... Also easily confused is shot count versus efficiency. Again, apples and oranges.

Yeah good point here, Mark mentions shot count is the same as the impact.

So say the impact is at 120 bar on the reg to make 70fpe in .25 and the dw is at 170 to make the same power. The dw still has the same shot count? (Shots on the reg)

Just curious.

Glem.Chally....

It was explained to me that the DW operates as a reg'd ag while on reg and similar to a Red Wolf when below reg... compensates as it drops in pressure below the reg. I set the reg on the test unit I have to 149 and was able to get 60 shots at 932 to 947 with MRD's before the reg pressure was below set point. 50 ft lb... approx. THEN I shot another 5 mags and STILL in the 930's. Down to 99 bar when I stopped. The SUGGESTED set point for the 22, based on the limited info I've been given was 190 Bar but I think that is only necessary if I'm trying to make max power w Beasts, and even there, it will still operate the same. The suggested set point for the 25 was 175.

The chrono, on board, is pretty cool and seems to be within a fps or 2 of my LabRadar.

The 25 makes power much easier in mine than the 22 but haven't run a long documented string yet.

It's cool that S1Mark has a production model w latest software. I'm also interested to see how it compares to the one I've been testing .

Yep! tried both and very similar shot count, I don't understand it personally!

I guess I dont need to understand it for it to work. Nice! I'd love to see a string.
