DAYSTATE REPORT

I am happy I bought the Wolverine "R" instead of the electronic device. It has been flawless since I got it a year ago and the gun can keep up with the Wolf in the accuracy category also. I got the trigger down to ounces (the way I like it) and it too rivals the electronic trigger on the Wolf.

The Red Wolf is an engineering marvel for sure and in time, any bugs will be worked out.

Hi,

While cleaning my redwolf .22 hp, I took out the single shot tray and found a small metal piece stuck to the magnet..

This actuates the magazine. I put it back in the hole and out back my single shot tray.

My questions are;

1. Is it supposed to do that or is it broken?

2. I dont use the magazine at all, so even if it's broken I can continue to use it as is and it has no effect on accuracy or function?

3. Can it be repaired / replaced by myself ?

Thanks for any guidance which comes my way

It is broken, you can continue using it in single shot without any issues. It can be replaced easily. Remove the two screws on the plate and remove broken part and drop in new one. There is a small oring on the bottom pin you need to put on the new part. The two screws have a bit of lock tight on them. You can use a little heat to warm the screws or do like me, I used a small punch and tapped on the screws to break the lock tights grip and removed with a allen. Go easy or you will strip the allen hole..

Thank you Sir, much appreciated! and it IS a relief.

you wouldnt be knowing what part number it is or what is it called. cant see it in the parts diagram. and if you could tell me where to get it from, that would be a bonus for me.

Thanks again

You only need to replace the pin if your going to shoot with the magazine. As for accuracy, you said you cleaned it, it usually takes 20 rounds or so to get shooting tight groups again. Have you chonographed it to see if velocity changed ? Did you pull the barrel to clean it? If you used a rod did you remove the breach oring and put in a new one ? When I do a deep clean I pull the barrel and clean from the breach end and put in new viton oring when I'm done.

A couple days ago I received my new Pulsar .177. Cleaned the barrel, mounted scope & bipod en started testing. The Pulsar groups good with almost every quality pellet except HN Hunter Extreme, Polymags and FTT 8,64 & the 8.44 AA and JSB on high power .

Favourite pellet so far is the JSB Monster. See for your self……...

Very high quality gun. Only 1 thing…..the bubble level not correct

Hi,

1- i shot about 200 rounds.

2- no, haven't chronographed it yet. shall do so saturday. that should give me some answers. thanks.

3- pulling the barrel means taking it out to clen? no, i did not take it out. i clean from the breach using a pull through and patches with ballistol. no i did not change the breech oring. i had put in viton o rings, the original didnt last the second outing. i shall put in fresh ones in any case. i need to change every cleaning ?

thank you for taking the time to help

Please move forward slowly and with ful care. Ruined accuracy is not understandable. Cleaning of barrel does open groups but not to that extent.

Hi,

Need help. I managed to open up the screws and took out the broken part but I cant get the cup back in the hole. It only goes in about half way... what am I doing wrong?

Mine did the same. You will need to degas to get pressure off the valve body. Use a socket to loosen the fill nipple till you hear air escaping. When the air is gone, should be able to put the cup back in.

Don't forget to tighten the fill nipple before refilling .

Thank You !!! Bob.

thats a relief. shall give it a shot in the morning !

thank god for these forums, they are a blessing for an old dog learning new tricks ! :)

It’s funny I just replaced mine this morning!,(this is my third one!) called AoA they had the new washer and pin to me 2nd day air, luckily I haven’t had to degass “yet” you sure know when it breaks during a session Accuracy falls off, now I Check it after every shooting session just in case? All three times pin broke it was stuck to one of the magnets under single shot tray. Just curious if it is prone to breaking sooner if not using the mag.?

Daystate was great, they sent me 2 free of cost. one for the broken one and one for the safari, just in case. my pin was also found stuck to the single shot tray, i exclusively used the single shot tray. so would like to know too if its the tray issue? never used my mags.

one more thing, on my saxon's single shot tray there is a hole built in where the pin would hit. there isnt one in the ones which came with redwolf and safari.

I have checked several times to see if there’s a indentation or marks from contact on bottom of SS tray “nothing” so believe it must be continuously bottoming out on shoulder when o-ring deteriorates? I tried this last time for them to give me a couple of complete sets no go!, i think it’s because it’s still under the warranty, I didn’t try to buy outright! I think I will now though

would you happen to know the size of the oring there? since its already open, might as well replace it...

bagnall and kirkwood have them but @ 17.50 GBP a piece if i remember right
