DAYSTATE REPORT

Daystate do have an airgun database on there website. You can log in and see some basic info on your particular gun. As they are selling the programmer and the factory data is so important it should be kept there so owners can retrieve it themselves if need be.

This is bound to come up again as more people are going to want to tune there guns and they are trying to make it easier for people to do that. Also in the future if a gun is sold the new owner they could go back and get the original settings

Otherwise as I understand you have to go back to the dealer who in turn has to contact Daystate for the data. Having the data available may end up saving a lot of work and frustration for everyone.

Good news and bad news.

The good news is that I found a Daystate airgun database and was able to log in after going through a "Register" process.

The bad news is that my RW HP was not found when I searched on the serial number only; an RW with a space followed by the serial number, RW with no space and the serial number, and finally RW with a hyphen followed by the serial number.

More bad news. It looks like once a gun is actually in the database, it may be possible for anyone to bring up gun data if they know the serial number. I'm guessing here as I was able to see data on a Airwolf and a Huntsman that had a serial number with digits equal to mine.

My only heartburn over my experience - since for once in my life I followed recommendations and recorded original rifle data - is finding a database that is apparently not maintained?

The other Mark B.

As it is at the moment the data base is pretty pointless. There original intention was obviously to have some information available to owners on there guns. Now there is a legitimate need for gun data to be kept perhaps Daystate can give the whole database a makeover. I wasn’t suggesting the information was available now just that the means for Daystate to make the information available exists.

It would take an investment from Daystate to bring it up to scratch but if they continue to go down the path of producing adjustable electronic airguns in the long run may be worth doing

It would be nice for DS to chime in on this thread again. I have to believe they have a base line across all settings for the initial set up. And a more detailed understanding of what effects each setting (or change to it) will effect. Or maybe an email to Daystate is in order.

My .177 RW 'issue' isn't bad enough to prompt me to send it out for programming or buy a programmer just yet, but is similar in some respects.

Back in the 90's I bought 2 Daystate CR94's. I installed a better CRX trigger in one of them. I still have them and will never sell. Both have BSA barrels. I have won several 1st places in Field Target with them.

One time my tool and die friend clamped the action in the vise of a Bridgeport mill and we fired 50 shots at 45 yards indoors. The result was basically one ragged hole with CPH. Both the CR94 and CRX have steel receivers. Between these two models Daystate offered some aluminum receivers, they were not as good.

I still compare any new purchase with the CR94 and CRX in mind as comparison.

Received my Red Wolf from AOA. Chance to shoot it to see if it was damaged in shipping by the looks of the box and how AOA packaged it. Seems to be doing ok. The target on the left is 10 shots and the one on the left is five shots at 50 yards high power with the redesigned 24gr.The arrows are where all the pellets but 1 went

On medium power the 25.39 average velocity is 836 and on high power its 924. I wasnt sure my rifle would even shoot straight due to the condition I received it in. The gun moved around during shipping and the barrel went thru both shipping boxes. But I think the barrel is straight and not bent or damaged. The 18.13 gr. averaged 874 on low power and 971 on medium. I thought pushing the 18.13 on high power would yield bad results so didn't bother. I did shoot 15.89 on low power average velocity 924, not accurate at the time I shot them...it was the first pellets I shot thru the rifle.

Just installed the Heliboard Extreme, pretty easy install...review to follow.

Edit:

One note. Once installed the power on/off lever/rod which moves with the Daystate power switch would not contact the new board’s main power switch/lever when closed. Closing the switch actually removes power from the board.

As you can see in the first picture which has the old board to the right of the new install, the old board lever has a “roller/rocker” wheel which puts the switch closer to the arm. The designer recommended I “bend” the new board’s metal lever up to meet the Daystate arm.

As seen in the second picture, I opted to cut a piece of shrink wrap tubing to size and slipped it over the Daystate arm. Fits like a glove and works perfectly.

Have a RW in .22 HP, want to know how many Rnds your averaging before A: you need to clean barrel while using 25.4’s on HP? B: Do you take shroud off to inspect/clean air stripper @ same time? Have 500Rnds thru gun accuracy went south like right now! (Using same tin/lot of pellets)Checked most obvious reasons, “Breach O-Ring ok” cleaned both Dry/wet patches? No difference, Mod. Off /On, nothing, velocity consistent! (Changed power settings also) Any help greatly Appreciated! Note: cleaned @ 300rnds prior everything fine after this cleaning velocity dropped for first 5-6 shots steadily rising to previous FPS! Which is around 950fps w/ 25.4’s on HP, REALLY PERPLEXED HERE GUYS!, One more thing, prior to all this dropped power to mid. Level w/25’s & acuracy actually better @ 60yds, Going around 890fps! Know this is subjective and probably not relevant to my original subject?

Another vote for the older AIRWOLF with the Greek heliboard installed. way way way more adjustablity than the factory board redwolf or airwolf !!

No need for a side lever either being there electro guns and cocking is nothing more than opening the breech.

Daystate application of side lever cocking comes a day late & dollar short when needed with spring driven hammers of past ... now it's just window dressing on a gun that does not need it.

jmo tho ...

A wire broke off my RW programer cable. I would like to fix it and possibly make it longer so I can connect it to the programmer cable in the battery compartment. This will allow me to make adjustments with the stock on. My question is exactly what is the connector? From my research I believe it is a Davitu Connector - JST 1.5mm ZH 5-Pin Connector Plug. Can anyone confirm this and or point me in the right direction.
