Animal, have you actually sighted in the gun from a sturdy rest like a bench? Practicing from a hunting position is great but if the gun is not sighted in perfectly to start you can get skewed results. Another suggestion if you're carrying a trigger stick tripod maybe look into a Caldwell Deadshot field pod. They have a strap for carrying and 10x more stable than a trigger stick tripod because the rear is supported as well. I have used them in Idaho shooting ground squirrels and it allowed me to take very long accurate shots that a stick wouldn't provide. Just an idea. Downside is you need a small 3 legged collapsible stool.
