The Coyotes are howling and advancing beyond the front lines and they had tried to attack my dog , Titus so this means WAR

Here is the Enemy and I have a gift for him My Edgun R-5 Super Long 30 Caliber with a 52 grain slug to the face , I must protect our freedom , OK I shall be on Coyote patrol , It will be me or them I shall vindicate sweet revenge for TITUS

Titus was outside when 3 jumped him and one bit part of his ear off and almost bit my wife , so tomarrow I will remove my pulsar n550 and put on the R-5 30 mag with the 52 grains I make they do 920 fps and I am guessing they will be where the quail were being raised , they got them too,

BOB I can use the EDgun with is about 97fpe , or I have condor tricked out in .257 which shoot a 73 grain at 990 fps is 173fps , both guns sub MOA during day , both single shot the coyotes are packs of 5 or more ,

I do have centerfires but cant shoot anything loud , so i am thinking one of these , with slugs they lose little power at range I will shoot , so Which gun should I put scope on ? . I would say I can get off shots faster with the EDGUN then the condor as the bolt is on top on the condor here i both guns they are my most powerful which would you guys use .257 or .30 , and slugs or pellet , I am saying Heavy slug

Aloha jwrabbit,

Glad Titus is okay. 

If I could ask a few questions... Approximately how far do you think you’ll take the shot? Which gun do you feel the most comfortable with? Which gun do you shoot more accurately? I’m guessing that you’ll only get one shot before they scatter ( just guessing as I have never hunted coyotes) but understand they are very weary animals. I base that assumption on hunting pigs here in Hawaii. Kinda apples to oranges but when hunting weary game, at the shot even suppressed they make themselves scarce. I’ve never been able to get a second shot. Pellets vs slugs... I’d shoot the one that I could shoot accurately at the range you plan to take them. Lastly you probably are already planning to do it but maybe flag the distance in ten yard increments from your hide. You’ll get a better read on them once they step in the kill zone

Both guns will do the trick I'm sure!

I'd use the Condor if you think you'll just get one shot OR if you think you can reload quick enough for a shot on a second one.

Do you have an e-caller where you can play a pup-distress call after you shoot the first one? That might help get the other ones to come back or at least stop running so you can get a shot on them.

They WILL react to a pup-distress call. The last time out I had a second coyote come running right toward the caller that I had placed about 50 yards from where I was shooting.

Titus is just about as sweet a looking a dog as they come. Gordan setter? She must live, they must die.

Bob O is correct about the caller. They will turn around in their tracks for a wounded pup call. Also they will not leave a wounded coyote behind. If you shoot one of them in the hind quarter and drop him squealing the other will not leave. Shoot the second one dead then go back and finish the other. This way you can get at least two. 

Coyotes are my biggest fear. My dog is my best friend period. Rid the world of coyotes!

We go out 2-3 times a week looking for them. Also if you go to your local meat market and ask for some beef fat trimmings and leave that out for bait they just love it. It is a smell they love and high in protein so they want it bad! Squirrel meat works great too, but easier to go to the grocery store unless you just want to have fun squirreling?

um I do not have a caller , But My neighbors breed Quails andthey make these chirp noises I think this is why a pack of coyotes are here , OK o I think shots can be 50 yards , I mean they attacked titus like 50 feet from back door they show no fear , Here i titus if u look he is packing a 25ACP , Titus is a breed of dog raised to tunnel to hunt Badgers , He has many battle scars but them coyotes came in a pack and ambushed him while he was peeing , I have to redeem as blood was shed and titus needs to walk with his head Hi and OK how about if I put the nite cope on R-5 and a 1x on the condor and a torch on that and I can try to use both ok here i Tisus after the aftermath Colleen is tending his wounds

and he is on a hi protein diet of 2 gray squirrel a day to heal quickly

OK 2 SHOOTERS AND COUNT DOWN , ? I NOTICED BOBS MOVIE WHEN HE GOT A COYOTE IT DID NOT DIE QUICKLY IF I TAKE SHOTS THEY MUST DROP WITH NO SOUNDS AS THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT , I CANT ALLOW IT TO HOWL , SO WHAT IS IT HEART OR LUNG SHOT ? AND WHO LIVES NEAR ME TO HELP TAKE THEM OUT IN THE NAME OF TITUS ANYONE NEAR CT WANT IN ON REVENGE ?
