The Coltri MCH-6 is now dead and the new version is called Icon LSE

Nice find, Chickenthief. In addition to the lower price, they have reduced the weight of these to 83 lbs. That weight reduction means they can be shipped by UPS and FEDEX Home Delivery in the U.S. it will be interesting to see what the prices are going to be at U.S. dealers. These new Coltri models could be game changers for people seeking an affordable, reliable dive quality compressor that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

That is very good news :)

The MCH-6 sell for 22.000 Danish "bananas" the new model shipped from the mother land is a "measly" 16.500 Dkkr, that is a 860 or so USD savings,,,,,,, and that is indeed worth a mention, so kudos for the good news even if i am not in the market for a compressor, then at least now the chance for that got significant better.

And NO additional taxes or import / handling fees, as Italy is a member of the EU gang, and they like all gangs take care of their own first.

I just ordered the MCH-6 the other day from Nuvair. WTF...did I just get boned ?

If the new compressor does cost less in the US I would at least ask Nuvair to give a partial refund. Being the type of guy who likes to buy vehicles that have all the bugs worked out, not the latest and greatest, I would still want the older model. I generally allow others to beta test new gear, first.

"Only" updates as i understand it is a lighter motor and lighter frame, that and the Darth Vader colour scheme.

But i do expect to see a lot of blues on sale soon, x-mas and all.

RAL 9005 is extremely popular, along with the grey RAL 9006, and the off white RAL 9010 and signal white 9016 and 9003

I have no idea how many tonnes of this i have sprayed in the few years i did powder coating, but it is enough as i mainly did manual painting of bigger things ( up to mini bus / van size ) That my R elbow now have a slop in it, so if in a quiet place and i hold my lower arm and jiggle lower arm up and down, you can hear the elbow slop

Unusual that the 1790.98 Euro price is shown as the same for all of them, even the stainless version. From what I see in the web pages, the PMV is an extra price add on so once added, price is more than the MCH6 being advertised by Scubastore.com.

The 2.2kw version shows the same fill rate as the 3kw version. That’s probably wrong. And the 1.1kw version might be an MCH3 replacement. Hard to tell as the info is somewhat lacking (3 stage or 4 stage?). I would not make too much of the “news” yet. It might be a web page not yet finalized. For now, the best Coltri option for us in the USA is still the 60hz MCH6 from Nuvair.

If they really do come out with a lighter redesign that is reliable and has a stainless steel frame for less money than an equivalent optioned MCH6, than that would be great for us.

I suspect much of the weight savings is from switching to an aluminum housing on the motor from a steel one; and from a steel frame to an aluminum frame. I will be interested to see a review of the changes. (I love working with all motors, especially electrical ones. I used to have a job while studying at ‘THE’ Ohio State University repairing electrical motors of all types for the equipment in the chemistry lab.)

My MCH6 has an aluminum motor housing. The overall dimensions of the electric Icon LSE is slightly smaller than the electric MCH6 frame. That might account for the lower weight (83lb.(Icon) vs 87lb.(EM) or 85lb.(ET)? The Icon gas version is no smaller than the MCH6 gas version but it is listed with a lower weight (83lb. vs 84.9lb.) If the Icon had an aluminum frame, it should be lighter than the stainless steel framed version, but it's not. The Icons are all listed at 83lb. regardless of engine type (gas, single phase, or three phase) or frame type.

FedEx maximum weight for home delivery is 70 lbs. The compressor weighs 83 plus another 30 lbs for shipping materials, I don’t think home delivery is gonna happen.
