OK . i KNOW 30 CAL THEY DIDNT TAKE 1 STEP , WITH SOLID SLUG , i DID ONLY HAVE 1 RUN BUT HE WAS SHOT WITH A HOLLOW POINT HEAD SHOT , i THINK IT CAME APART . i WONT USE HOLLOW POINTS FOR ANIMALS OF 20 KG OR MORE ,SINCE THIS HAPPENED ,



i REALLY WANT TO SEE WHAT THE R-M 22 CAN DO WITH SLUGS , I DID ORDER SOME BALLISTIC GEL TO SEE DIFFERENCE OF SAY WOUNT TRAIL AND PENITRATION BETWEEN THE FLAT NOSED 30 CALIBER 52 GRAIN AND THE ROUND NOSE 22 CALIBER 36 GRAIN , AT 61FPE , MY GUESS IS THE 22 WILL GO DEEPER DUE TO LESS DIAMETER AND AERODYNAMICS BUT I MAY BE WRONG

OK SHALL SITE IN NITE VIION WITH THE R5M 22 IF U GUYS SAY , CURRENTLY IT IS STILL ON THE R5 30 CALIBER , IT HAS MEMORY FOR 3 GUNS FOR THE USER INTERFACE i HAVE IT SIGHTED IN FOR THIS

1.R-5 .30 CALIBER 52 GRAIN SLUGS

2. TAIPAN VETERAN 22 CAL 38FPE

3. EDGUN , LELYA 25 33FPE ,

I WILL DELETE MY TAIPAN 22 AND REPLACE THIS ONE WITH THE R-5M 60FPE 36 GR SLUG , THEN i HAVE 30 CAL FOR HEAVY WORK , THE 22 CAL FOR i GUESS LIGHT HEAVY WORK , AND MY LELYA FOR A QUICK 25 CALIBER LOW POWERED SETUP FOR SMALL GAME OR TINY ZOMBIES OR POSSUMS AND RACCOONS .

DOES THIS SOUND GOOD ? I CANT SHOOT POWDER BURNRS HERE OR IT WOULD BE DIFFERENT .

The .30 at 52 grains at 866 fps when threw both lungs and both ribs and was under fur , it did major damage like 2 fingers or a 1 inch hole . and I did weigh slug it lost 20 grains and weighed 42 grains

I am hesitation to try a head shot here is why , I did shoot 1 in head and it did run it was not a solid or my slug it was hollow point , I will not use them again .I think the hollow point I used may be ok for small game . I dont like hollow points for this .

I didnt get a chance yet to shoot the 30 and the .22 threw ballistic gel . to compare them , but I can say this . Ok I have a spinner at 75 yards and it is one of them resettable ones very hard to make it flip . and when I hit it with 22 it whips up hard , If I shot it with my lelya 25cal with a jsb 25.39 gr @ 820fps it doesnt even move it a bit

When I shoot the same spinner my edgun R=5 .30 caliber shooting 44 gr JSB it only moves it 1/3 way to top

WHEN i SHOOT IT WITH A 22 WITH 36 GRAIN MP SLUG IT FLIPS SPINNER TO TOP with AUTHORITY ( 875 FPS OR 61FPE)

SO IT DOES HAVE AT LEAST 2X THE POWER OF A 30 CALIBER JSB AT 920 FPS

I tested it today next to a 30 caliber with pellets , so the gun Retains so much power and the slug should penetrate well

OK thanks for input , I do know now 30 cal is no problem . I ordered a moderator adapter from ED-Gun West , it goes in place where the baffle is and has a 1/2 x 20 male stud for a moderator , I do own 3 moderators which do u guys think is best to put on for this ?

Gun is r5m 22 cal long . I will only lave moderator in during this hunt as I dont want it longer but need it quiet where I will shoot . here is gun , I got a Larue 34mm quick release mount, and my best scope it is Smidt and Bender PM2 ffp here is also pic of reticle , For coyote I will be using this PULSAR , I also included a picture of my scope reticle , I wanted to show you with this set up , I can shoot point blank to 262 yards with out dialing . wow this is pretty good for a 22 pcp rifle , with out even dialing scope . I got 26 mils adjustment in scope which can bring it to over 600 yards and this is with out using a canted rail , Slugs make a huge difference

1. 1.22 x 5 inches TANTO in .22 cal

2. 2 x 6.25 inch RONIN in .30 cal

3. 1.5x8 unknown brand in 25 cal

so you removed the baffles ? and inserted rolled up foam ? .Hmm Being it isnt a solidly mounted piece , if it shifts does it change any poi ? I had a moderator a few years ago that had felt wrapped up and it moved and moust of hit pellets or something poi changed I know donny and others use them but they are firmly wrapped around a solidly mounted baffle ?

i saw three about 200 yards aay then a pack of 5 more running full bore , then nothing , it i still raining , I had no time to shoot plus they were over 170 yard away I came in for nite , If they stayed there I wouldn't hunt them but they are 5 feet from my door and on my lower cement deck as downstairs people raise quail and my next door neighbor raises chickens and rabbits ,I bet this is what brings them here I only remembered in past spot 1 a yr no more , I only see a few rabbits a yr it i pathetic I bet they eating them , do they eat turkeys? I do ish they ate geese I have a 1 acre pond and geese total my grass ith their poop grrrrrrrrrrrr . LOU

WHats really messed up is I got one first and in jan then they left and came back 2x amount. I got a fe more , now their seems to be so many more not alone like with friends or packs ? do they travel for mating this time of year ??? why near houses? their is so much woods why do they come and disrupt and take pets there is no food in woods??? I go out i see squirrels birds i see 20 ducks a day in river and many geese in pond during diff times and seasons .so why cant they eat this stuff away from houses , I bet it is them chickens and quail but go to local stores and many complain so population must of like exploded
