The "1" gun in your collection that will...

Shoot very well under the following conditions. No adjustments made, same scope and pellets. No slugs. Just shoot @.

1.10 meters

2.50 yd benchrest

3. 75 yd benchrest

4. Pest very well 100 yds plus.

I'm going old school on this one. Z man tuned Rapid mk ll .20 Cal with the new jsb exact heavys 15.9 @ 910. Scope, old Nikko Sterling platinum 6-24x56 nighteater. This is all assuming you and a few shooting buddies were having a friendly beer money contest. For the .20 Cal owners dust off your rigs and try the 15.9's. They will make u smile.

Vulcan-ish…. My .25 Uragan Easiest to shoot gun across those ranges I've had in ages. I have other stuff that will do better at 10y/m and even at 50y (2 diff guns and on a calm day). But overall all...gotta go with my Uragan. Might be partially because it's new but everytime I bring something else out I end up putting it away and getting this one out.

Must add that I can shoot my true 10m rifle better at 10m with match sights than the uragan with a scope, but at not nearly as well at longer ranges. Think that is me, not the gun. On the flip side, 100+ is still a bit of a struggle as play with velocity vs pellet.

I gotta go with Intenseaty22. .22 Cricket mini Carbine. I have FX (2), Vulcan (2), Taipan (1), EDgun (3), even another Cricket bull pup, but when I just want to go shooting with no hassle and no effort, and just "know" that I'll hit what I'm aiming at, I grab the Mini from the gun safe... Its that good at all ranges from 10M to 100 yards.

I don’t do pest control past 60yard but my .20 rapid can empty full mag of jsb or perms onto a 40mm spinner at 100 yards.

It’s my .20 Theoben that does it all for me. Except off hand, it’s over 12 pounds with the scope and l suck at off hand. But the scope focus’ down to 7 or 9 yards and off of bags the pellets go into one little ragged hole at 10 yards. At 100 yards it’s able to shoot well under an inch, but not in any wind. My Theoben is shooting the light pellets best, but it’s set at about 840 FPS if I remember right. AZ did the rifle and it’s so insanely accurate that I’d never bother to try and improve it. Although he did say that the heavies in .20 are best when going over 900 FPS.

Great stuff guys. Nice mixture of old school and new. And the .20 Cal got some love. Keep it coming.

I have a feeling that if JSB brings out a .20 Hades, the .20 Cal will be getting (as Led Zeppelin would say) A whole lit of love.

If and when my fx impact ever arrives in the uk, I will definitely be fitting a .20 LW barrel to it, .20 is which a good calibre in low to mid power airguns.

Hmmmmmm, no Daystates or Air arms shooters?

In my collection, some will do some, but not all of what you specified. My very best offhand rifle would likely be my Air Arms RN10. Does extremely well at 50 but as a 12 ft/lb rifle, not so much for longer. My older Daystates all suck for me offhand and are not powerful enough for 100 either. I mentioned my Red Wolf. It's a phenomenal rifle for all that you specify. Problem is I have too many and some are also phenomenal but don't have to be reset every time you pause for a moment. The current Daystates are pretty good for offhand and the AAs that I've shot also. The 10m offhand and 100 yard + are a difficult combo though.

Your choice of a Theoben is a good one. I have a MK1 Rapid that would be in the running for the very last for me to let go. It's only a 20 ft/lb 177 though, so 100 yds is outside of its use preference.

Anyway .... good thread for thought .
