Thanksgiving Squirrel Hunt, Watch-**Only if Very Bored**

I hurt myself similarly a week ago. I was heading out before daylight to sit with my .308 Texan SS for deer and I slipped on the wood ramp on my deck. It was iced over. Slipped and fell right on my back. The Texan was slung over my shoulder so it hit the deck first and hard and I fell on the pistol grip. It jabbed by ribs hard. I shook it off but the next day my breathing was labored so I went and got it x-rayed. No broke ribs, just bruising. It still hurts. Tonight I've had a hard time breathing. When I breath deep the muscle feels like it wants to Charlie horse.

The gun was knocked several inches off zero and the grip was hit so hard it loosened it. I had to tighten it back up with an Allen wrench. But otherwise the gun seems to be fine.

Dang that reminds me of a day of training in the summer of 1985 at an Army Ranger base. I was so fatigued that, as I went to transition from running to prone with my M-60, my legs noodled-out, the gun landed level on the bipod and I fell onto it......the rear sight straight to the chest didn't feel good at all.

Immediately followed by a few hundreds rounds of suppressive fire, burned the crap out of the bottom of my forearms from the hot brass on the ground......I ignored the pain at the time because I thought it was just fire ants that I wouldn't be able do anything about anyway. 🙄

I think today is the first day that I'm completely recovered. I'm lucky that was all it was. One of the big is criteria I had in picking out this gun and scope was their durability.

My military experience had tought me about how important equipment durability. After hanling an m4 and other military equipment in the field, it is frustrating not to be able to find the same quality in airguns. I broke three other guns in the field too. I'm glad Edgun (and several others) were able to step it up above others in that department.

Update.

I'm lucky I got one in time. In two days, they ran out of pepper. I'm fixing the crack in the old one right now. I'm going to do something crazy with it just for fun.
