That is so true for me and I am GLAD I did not buy the 5-20 mag scope.

Want to be more impressed by the 3-14, do this:

Big change to focal range and depth of field on the 3-14. Only for daylight use though. Doesn't have as big an impact on the 5-20. I kept my 5-20, but it worked wonder on the image of the 3-14 for me.

Glad I was able to point you in the right direction. Since your usually shooting close the stock IR should do good for you but I would recommend getting the rechargeable 16650 battery to replace the 2 batteries in it now. I use the ones from keepower.
